diff drop and billy 5100's???

    is a diff drop needed at all if just going up a notch or two with the billy 5100's??

    will i wouldnt think so...this is one of those highly debated topics as to whether or not a diff drop is necessary...esp at lower lifts

    i think theyre designed more for when youre going 3+ so that you can correct your angles etc and reduce wear...however for a smaller lift you shouldnt need it

    i dont have one and i have no issues

    ok...cool.

    with my new wheelers springs, i should gain about an inch and a half in the rear, and im about to order some ome 881 coils to replace the factory coils, so im thinking im gonna need to keep the 5100's at the stock height right?? you arent supposed to preload aftermarket coils, correct??

    honestly im not sure...ive heard that you shouldnt preload progressive springs and you shouldnt preload adjustable coilovers...however i havent heard that generalized of a statement...maybe chris can help :confused:

    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    No diff drop is needed. If you look at the geometry of the diff frop, you will find the shaft angles are only changing a few degrees with a 3" lift. The diff drop should be used if vibrations develop from the front shafts, or ( in a worst case) your CV boot fins are touching. I have seen many 3" lifts and no diff drop and the suspension angles are fine. :)

    ok, sweet!!! thanks for clearing that up buddy!!

    my truck oughtta be riding pretty damn good after the new leaf packs and 881 coils are installed. and later on down the road...........tc uca's and maybe a tom woods drive shaft if i ever need one!!!:D
