    Hey Hey Taco Lovers!

I am new to this forum, so I appreciate you all taking the valuable time out of your day to respond to me! I am getting ready to lift my Tacoma and need you advice. The reason I am lifting is primarily for aesthetic reasons (want the truck to look badass), but I also want great performance. The most off roading I do is fire roads, rocks, mud and driving in places only 4x4 can access. No crazy Baja or Rubicon type 4 wheelin for me though. I do want the truck to ride nice after the lift!

I have gone to 3 separate shops...all with very different opinions, prices etc. First shop 4 Wheel Parts tried to sell me a 4" Icon kit. Out the door with everything almost $6K. F that!
Second shop was super cool guys...they said 4" BDS out the door everything around $4k. (I'm running 33" BFG All Terrains and 17 Rims by the way). 3rd Shop was BY FAR the cheapest. They recommended Pro Comp 6" and upgrade to 35's...out the door for $2800 all in (excluding new tires). I asked 3rd shop about BDS and they said they could do BDS 4" or Zone 4" out the door all in for $2700 BDS or 2200 Zone. Based on these three shops, what are your thoughts/advice??

Also, my own personal inner debate is whether to go 4" or 6". I literally just bought BFG 33" tires a few months ago and really don't want to have to buy an all new set of 35's (not to mention the gas mileage effect of 35's). But I do love the look of a badass 6" Taco. Will a 4" lift on 33's still look pretty lifted and aggressive?? Do you recommend 6 or 4? Some folks I have talked to say 6" is just too much on a smaller truck like a Tacoma. Others like 6. Some have said 4" looks super badass and great performance and can still run 33's. Would LOVE all of your thoughts insight on this!

Again, thank you so much for your help!! You guys rock!!

I did a 4" Rough Country lift 3 years ago and I love how my truck sits. There are some things I don't like now about my lift and if I could go back, I would do things differently. I'm no expert but the higher you go the more change you create to the suspension geometry. I had alignment issues and burnt one set of 33's and then figured out I needed new UCA's to be able to get proper alignment. You need to find a good shop that will look after you because you can't go back to stock specs. Also mine did a diff drop that messed up me adding skid plates. I've had to modify cut/weld to make things fit which made things a pain the ass. Do you have links to the actual kits? Ask lots of questions and do your research before you make a decision. Not saying it's bad just know what you are getting into.
I'm running 33's and it looks good I think.

You got a really nice rig man. I recently picked up a 2015 DCLB thats sitting on a 3" spacer lift. Im totally happy with the way it sits, but Im skeptical about the spacer lift after the stuff Ive read here. It rides like a dream, but I dont wanna have to worry about it when Im in the woods. Considering just replacing the spacers with shocks and C/Os.

Thanks man. It's a work in progress.
I have already taken care of the rear with Dakar springs and better shocks. I still have a spacer block in the front that I will remove once I upgrade to coilovers. The ride isn't bad but you notice the harshness going over bumps at higher speeds. I've been off road and no complaints so far.
