I have a manual and I park with my truck in gear as a habit. My 2013 was automatic so a remote start was a no-brainer.

Ya, But if you had a manual, with a remote wouldn't you think to remember Neutral and Parking brake?

After having my Vette roll down my driveway with the e-brake on and the car not in gear while I ran in to get something in the house, I won't take that risk again. I don't trust the emergency brake alone.

Not to be critical, but how many times have you used the e-brake before that?

The main way e-brakes work and get adjusted is if you use them.

Well I've only set my truck on fire once before. So as long as I don't manage to do it again I should be alright...

Woo! There will be many cats and dogs. And a bird!

Happy Friday! I have an acceptable new job offer! Looks like the best two weeks of my life will be coming soon...

For the remote start with a manual, you have to set the parking brake and not touch the clutch prior to shutting down so that the system knows the truck is running in neutral with the parking brake on. Otherwise, it will not engage the start sequence.

They are supposed to self adjust in reverse iirc. Whether they actually do or not is another thing.

I fully understand how emergency brakes work. (No sarcasm)

I was more amused I was being asked if I knew how to use an emergency brake.
