I want to pull the cap to put anti seize on/get the swingout sandblasted so I can spray paint it.

I was thinking about a rubber strap wrench, or a big vice grip and a couple swings with a sledge.

 

Get a big nut TIG welded to the top. Go at it with a breaker bar.

idk if youll get that pulled off. i guarantee its corroded as fuck because of the two metals. id say cut it..

 

Serious question. What is he supposed to cut? If he cuts the top off, he’s left with corroded threads stuck inside with no where to apply leverage.

 

I think there was a rubber gasket on the cap, but im not 100%

 

Yeah I remember reading back in the day that using two different types of metals was a no no that it would promote faster corrosion

I’d cut a small line, and use an air chisel to try and knock it free. The cut would just be something for it to grab onto.

 

I was thinking hammer and chisel, but air chisel is better.
