Question for any of you that are running the new BFG TA/KO2's:
This truck comes with a brand-new set (even still have the nubbies on them), which is nice because even with my discount LRE 275/70R18's are expensive. But the BFG TA/KO's that I ran 10+ years ago weren't very good in the snow. Have they improved with the new KO2's, or should I plan on dumping the $$ on a set of Duratracs for this winter?

Even in non-supercharged guise the 6.4 Hemi they're putting in the '392 Challengers' is good for something like 485hp. And it'll do 25mpg on the highway, which is nuts

Edit- But I mean, even the GF's Mustang is bonkers. She's got the 2.3 Ecoboost motor in that and it makes 310hp/325lb-ft, but if she's just cruising down the highway it'll do 30+ mpg. And those power numbers are what the V8 GT Mustangs were making not even 10 years ago.

Absolutely! I only have 345 in the Vette, but it'll easily turn 30+ in 6th gear at 65 MPH. It turns like 1,200 RPM.

Yet there was a time when a 5.slow made like 200 HP and got 18 MPG if you were careful. Modern technology is a wonderful thing.

My friend had his Camaro there Wednesday for a tune. It was pretty damn fast before ( basically full bolt on). Just the tune netted another 40hp. After Dyno run has it putting down 401 to the wheels.

I get so conflicted with the smaller motors in the pony cars. As someone who grew up in the import world I still dream of 2JZ motors, RB26 swaps into S13s, VTEC all the things...but the idea of a non-V8 Mustang (outside of the SVO) or a non-V8 Camaro just doesn't sit with me for some reason. I can't explain it because it's totally illogical. As I found out with the STi, once you get into the higher HP numbers the car becomes less fun on the street because you can't fully use what it has (even with approx 380 crank (280 whp on a dyno where a stock STi showed 200ish) I would be exceeding any speed limit if I went WOT in 2 and 3. The Ecoboost sits in the sweet spot of more than enough power to use to be fun, but not enough to get you completely into trouble, but it's still a non-V8 Mustang.

    Conflicting, I know.

I'm going to use them to finally fix the stupid harmonic balancer wobble the car has. The dealer tried, failed and took me for too much $$$. I trust them more. I should have used them from day 1.

You'll get a lot of naysayers, but they are generally people who haven't ran the tire or are relying on their experience with the old ko.

Mine were great in the snow. Honestly great all around. I wouldn't hesitate to run them again. Now ya sheer ice they slide. But that's true of any AT.

We were going to go down to their open house this weekend, but after talking to them Wednesday they aren't going to be doing any Dyno runs for liability reasons so meh. I wanted to see/ hear some 1000hp runs. Not Dyno runs means just standing around which is fine, but I wanted to see some dead dinosaurs get burned up

That's lame. I didn't realize they had an open house tomorrow, I would have swung by. I've been meaning to get over there as it's a solid 10 minutes from my house (I lived in Bridgewater from 12-30).

Well it makes the wrong noises, but I can confirm that there's definitely enough power to get you into trouble if you don't know what you're doing, lol.

Really for her it's a perfectly logical car, because she commutes 100 miles round trip (mostly) on the interstate every day. So a car that returns 30+mpg but still has the power to leave traffic in the dust is pretty ideal. Plus, it's just loafing along at 70, unlike her old Honda that was turning 3000rpm, so driving the Mustang is a lot less tiring. Add in the safety features like the adaptive cruise control and different driving modes and it's really the perfect car for what she does. The heated and cooled seats and automatic climate control are just gravy, lol.

And I can speak from experience that if you click it into 'sport' mode it's a whole lot of fun to drive, too.

That's good. I was hoping they'd do well in the snow so I didn't have to invest in a summer and winter set for it just yet. I saw them on there and sort of cringed, remembering sliding through stop signs with the old KO's back in the day, lol.

Did you see the TFL video where they raced the f250 work truck against the old Raptor, both with the 6.2? Spoiler alert, the work truck won
    Not quite, I wish...
You should sell me the KO2s really cheap and get duratracs. This is really your only option. I’m only doing it to help you

I appreciate the gesture, but I guess I'll see how they do before I drop $800 on a set of Duratracs

Have not seen that video. Now I want to, lol.
Edit- Just watched it. Underwhelming; I'm not surprised that a 2wd regular cab was able to beat a 4x4 supercrew off the line, lol.

Pretty lame. Not sure if it's set in stone, but that's what they told him Wed while getting his car tuned.
