    Hi,

I have the newer Bilstein 5100's for 3rd gen Tacoma and want to level the ride. I have at TRD Sport double cab long bed. My understanding is that the second snap ring position (.64) will make the ride level but I have seem in most of the threads people are referring to .85 setting?

I will go with the second notch (.64) unless someone has some better advice from experience.

    Thanks for any sharing!

Real quick. There are two bilstein 5100s. The one you got is the one meant for our 3rd gens so the clip heights are: 0, .65, 1.1, 1.55 and 2
Whenever you see or hear "0.85" that is referring to the previous generation 5100, so don't pay attention to it.

Our trucks have 1" rake which means technically speaking you cannot PERFECTLY level the truck with the shock because you have .65 and 1.1 as the closest lift options. IMO I would go with the .65 because if you go with the 1.1 you will have the slightest of all bro-leans. PEACE:cheers:

Awesome, thanks a lot for the reply! I was thinking it must be a difference in the shocks because I know I got the right ones from Headstrong. Appreciate it, going with the .65

Anyone know who could install the front struts for me in the Portland Oregon area? I don't feel like dealing with the spring compression.

Do it yourself. Use a floor jack to decompress the spring on the way out and compress it back into place after.

The link above shows how to do it.
I was intimidated at first as well, by the danger from doing this on my own, but its perfectly safe as long as you do it slowly and follow the steps.

    EDIT
Side effects: you will feel like a man after buttoning up everything.

Does the .65 defenitely translate to exactly .65 in of lift? I realize that sounds like a stupid question but I thought the ending lift height (when measured from center cap to fender) was contingent upon how much weight the spring was supporting? For example a 4cylinder would get more lift vs. a cylinder would get less when both set at .65.

I'm quite certain the lift heights are pretty close to the heights they say they are. My bad on the delayed responses. Been banned for two months for reasons that are still unclear. Oh well :notsure::cheers:

Thanks man. I just put them on lastnight and it ended up settling to 1.75 by this morning. I used the old part # 2nd gen Bilstein 5100s On 1.75 setting.
