    2005- 2009 moisture finds it way thru a grommet on the fire wall and get into drivers side kick panel where it collects in a junction box for auto transmission and causes delayed engagement .

    Pain in the ass .My mechanic replaced gear selection sensor which took away stalling when moving into R or D . Now the 5 second hesitation when moving into D from P other than that it shifts fine . He also said my wiring harness is pristine with no moisture at all . But I suspect Toyota to want to replace it . Also no CEL either .

    Everyone says probably low on fluid so Toyota did a flush and it still does it . Brought it back yesterday so they could check the level,
    4 hour wait . Then they tell me not going to get to it after my appointment was at 10 am. They did do an oil change for $9.95 . And checking driveshaft on the extended warranty ,but 2 days for that WTF ?

    Easy solution SELL THE AUTO n buy a manual I have no shift issues. Only issue I have is my hand slipping off the shifter n right in the gf lap on ocasion.
