From what I'm hearing from a coworker that lives off of Chimney Mtn Road, all of Chimney is closed, and Tray in the rocky section. As of a couple weeks ago, Corbin Creek Road was closed from 75 entrance (Swallows Creek WMA), but Indian Grave Gap Road is open. Where Tray and Corbin Creek come together will likely stay open for AT access at Tray Gap.

AOP is a fun park and looks like it's expanding. I ran it in my 80 with some IH8MUD guys and would say that some build of the truck is necessary to enjoy it. We were in 4Lo as soon as the trailhead started and rode almost everything.

Another spot nearby is Coppinger Cove. Great trails and we spent three days riding in there and only rode the same trails a couple times. There is deep water there and we crossed rivers countless times, with the deepest around 4-4.5 feet. Snorkel is a good idea if not critical, but a near stock 80 with a rear lockright kept up with us through the frist day. He may have floated in a couple spots and his wife was done after day one.

This isn't the trail, but the road in.

In 2015 the STLCA group went there for their annual new years ride and got trapped by rain...

...from around the 7 minute mark, you can see that the 80's are pretty buoyant for 3 ton trucks.

Went in from the Helen side, made it as far as the first waterfall before I met a group of guys saying the trail was closed and you couldn't make it to Chimney road. With 2 inches of rain inbound we just decided to turn around. Not sure where the barricade is, though.

Charlie's Creek was was still in good shape. The water crossing at the end of the power line section was up to the sliders which was the deepest I'd seen it.

I rode up the river road in Helen, just past Robertstown and the zipline place, past Low Gap and was surprised that the road was gated up there before the 2nd camping area (Upper Chattahoochee). The gate just past FS44C. There was no sign indicating that the road was gated until we got to the gate. The road was fine the whole way up, so not sure how bad that road could be. I'm glad we found out as I've been planning my honey's first camping trip and was considering a campground as opposed to the places I usually camp. Now we're thinking about the GSMNP instead.

Did you happen to go out Indian Grave Gap and past High Shoals on your way to Charlies Creek? I'm wondering if they opened Corbin Creek road too.

A landslide and tornado damage from March 18th has that portion of road closed... https://www.fs.usda.gov/alerts/conf/alerts-notices/?aid=45343

You can find all closures here - https://www.fs.usda.gov/conf - There is a section on the right called "Alerts & Warnings"

I’m about to head up to the Tray Mountain Road side in an hour or so. First time wheeling and looking for some advice on where to go once I get there. I’ll have the wife and kids with me so nothing too intense but fun enough to excite the kids. I’ll post a pic of the truck too if that helps:

You guys rock by the way, always get the best advice and really appreciate it so thank you in advance!!

I think the Tray Side is pretty well maintained up to the top of the mountain. Other guys may chime in. Not sure what part of the state you're from but the Kids will have a blast in Helen. Charlie's Creek trail is about 30-40 minutes from the Tray Trail head, it's a really great trail with 3 super fun water crossings.

What part of town are you in? I think we live in the same neighborhood. Crestmont in Holly Springs.

Sixes Rd & Marble Quarry. I live in TX now but moving back to our house there this Friday. Trading in my 2017 Sierra Sat for a new OR then the mods begin, should have never got rid of my 07. Good to see some beer loving folks near by for when I need so help with lifts and bumpers.

No shit. There's about 4 (including myself) that live literally up the street from you on the Holly Springs exit. Exit 14, you'll have to come over for Mod Days/wheeling/camping!
