Not involved with yotas, just made anti tack coatings, which were being used in some tire production. The company has since been bought out by competitor and closed.

Don't know any thing about this, but I left there over 5 years ago. Think the place has been closed for atleast 3 years.

I completely agree. I doubt there is much difference if any in the work ethic, technical skill level and overall aptitude of auto workers in San Antonio TX and Tijuana Mexico .

From the quality I'm still seeing coming out of Japan I do believe Japanese auto workers have a better work ethic ,are more skilled ,have more experience and take more personal pride in delivering a higher quality product to the end consumer.

Given all of us had mostly that same experience, how can that japanese auto worker quality be translated to N. America?

An engineer once told Six Sigma just means one can put out the same turd over and over again. It has nothing to do with quality, it was just a collection of beaver pelts for corporate wankers.

Those law school loans must be late. RV owners are not the brightest people on the planet. The same goes for those who own camping trailers, boats on trailers or toy haulers. Are we really going to look at 22 year old tires? From my experience the most dangerous vehicles on the road are ones that are toys or have toys on them. There's no glory in buying new tires or packing bearings or doing much of anything

Nah most of my classmates don’t have loans :)

Interesting about the lack of IQ about RV owners . Wasn’t aware of that

You mean the methods the Japanese learned from America?

It's not like the entire Japanese culture is something anybody would want to adopt wholescale, since that society is having it's share of problems.

I like to support American workers, not because they are better, but because they pay US taxes, spend their earnings here- supporting other American businesses, and maybe raising families.

    Et cetera....

So you think American products are "crap"?

Finally, we get to the heart of the matter, and why you really started this thread...lol

Have said it a few times, my 01 NUMMI built (America), and both my OR and PRO 16/17 (both TX) built, have been fantastic.

However, FCA/Ford/GM products built in America have been lower quality than the Japanese built Toyota products.

My question, as we have been discussing quite clearly and at length in this thread, is WHY is that? Is it management, employees, suppliers?

I thought it was a discussion about the difference in "quality" of US vs. Mexican built Tacomas.

As if there is any "proven" differences. I don't believe anyone has offered anything conclusive, just a lot of "I know a guy" hearsay.

And a smattering of American worker bashing....to which I take exception.

I have owned Dodge, Ford, Jeep and GM products in the last 30 plus years, and for the most part, all were good quality.

The majority of them are idiots. They seem to think because it sits parked a majority of the time and the tires look "good" they don't need to be replaced. The tires age out and boom in the ditch. The same thing with idiots that don't repack trailer bearings and only think about it after their trailer tire goes through someone's windshield.
