With all due respect, unless you are hobbit sized I don't see how this isn't an issue with your knee resting there.

:rofl:you should see my buddies 17 4Runner. Its waaaaaaaay worse than our Tacomas. His is beat to shit right under the window from his elbow and cloth shirt. Hilarious considering the "build quality" of Japanese 4Runners are so highly touted on here :jerkoff:. Just don't let it bother you, its not a big deal.

Just sayin... my '98 Tacoma door/plastics showed zero wear after 14 years of heavy use.

IMO- it's not too much to ask that a door handle not show wear after two years of use. I'm not arguing. Just an opinion.

It's gotta be the "eco-friendly" lobby pushing soy based, or some other inferior based, paint.

I have tractors worth over $100,000 at work. You'd be surprised at all the little things that just fall apart. Its true, they don't make em how they used to! Btw have you had a vehicle post year 2000? This is kind of common.

Soy based... that's why mice chew up the wire harness on my riding lawnmower every winter.

Nothing like when it looks like you used a crowbar to take a door switch out to probably replace door speakers with some $29 dollar pioneer speakers from Walmart

It might not be Toyota’s fault - a guy at work had some wierd body chemistry that made the sweat from his arm dissolve paint on the doorsill - all of his work trucks and personal car had bare metal where he rested his arm on the door. I kid you not!

Unless it's VW and soft touch plastics, the interiors of a lot of cars back in the day looked like junk on year two

Ferarri even used crappy materials, but took it a step further and used it on buttons.

What kind of work? The skin can absorb chemicals then then sweat those same chemicals back out. If not from work maybe he works with some harsh chemicals around the house or a home workshop?
