I think it's pretty cool when other Tacomas park near each other

Snapped this one while at my sons soccer game this past Saturday. Front one is mine, but spooky how similar they are. I was going to try and park next to him and get a pick but he parked over the line, leaving little to no room. ED265536-F0B3-4853-A693-DC2FC7610CFE.jpg

Sorry just catching up and late to the party. If that’s accurate, and I’m sure it is, I do not support it. I love parking next to any gen and I’ll post here.

Love the grill surround graphics. Know I’ve told you before, still like ‘em every time I see them.

    Good on you bud!

Reason for their "own" thread is, that many 3rd Genner's don't get out of that forum much, lol.
I'm subscribed to the other thread, but it's pretty much :tumbleweed:... Aaand they post their encounters wherever they feel like, lol.

The closer one is remarkably similar to mine in appearance from that angle, so I should point out that neither of those trucks are mine, LOL.

The one closest to me in that shot is a base '08 DCSB 4x4. The one across the street is a 2009 or 2010 AC SR5 4x4 4.0L/auto. The DCSB is 100% stock; the AC has an aftermarket head unit but is otherwise stock. I have a 2010 RC 5-lug for those who don't know. :)

I saw this white RC parked on a side street in Doylestown while driving to work and pulled over quickly to snap a picture...

    image.jpg

When I pulled up behind it, I initially did not think it was an RC because it had a backup camera in the tailgate handle...

    image.jpg

I initially thought it might be a 2015 AC 5-lug (I once met an owner of a base 2015 DCSB 4x4 and his truck had a factory backup camera, so maybe 2015 had backup cameras standard across the board?). Anyway, this truck appears to be a 2009-2010 like mine (I have a 2010), based on the front end design. A quick glance through the window also revealed that it has an automatic transmission and a factory 2009-2011 AM/FM CD player with AUX input. No double-DIN head unit indicates that this owner opted to use the dinky rearview mirror screen...

Also, I've never driven a Tacoma with the factory rearview mirror/tailgate handle backup camera set up. I have, however, driven my uncle's 2012 Tundy SR5 which has this setup from the factory. I definitely like the aftermarket setup in my Taco better...

On my Tacoma, I presently have an aftermarket Clarion backup camera mounted above my license plate, hooked up to a Pioneer double-DIN HU. My truck is a base model, which means it did not come with an actual backup camera. However, since it is a 2010, it came prewired for one. My neighbor just wired the aftermarket camera to the factory "reverse wire" and it works like OEM.
