Things are getting real...I'll leave it at that.

Depends on how the estimator does the math on Monday, but basically the entire front end is gonna be brand new in one form or another.

and the shocks are gonna become a little more...blue. Gotta keep the bikes from bouncing around :D I pick up the rears from a friend tonight, then start saving for the rest.

    Obligatory bike content:

    None.
Sorry for the late reply. It’s a Dakine and it flips up with a Velcro tab that holds it. It works rather well but sometimes falls down on long drives.

That is about the sickest thing I have ever seen. A bed cage setup to fit that suspension, plus a spare, plus two bikes is also crazy. I learned from my Ford Ranger days that bed cages usually eat most usable space out back. Maybe I am wrong and its a full tube back end.

On a similar note, the taco lean on my truck looks the worst when my bikes are in the back. I was thinking of adding a 1/2” spacer and u-bolt flip at the same time.

Or going spring under kit with nice shocks and a Deaver setup that balances the truck. But this would kill the bike budget for this year for sure.

That thing is no joke for sure. Having a full custom cage rear frame and tubbed spares probably helps with the space too I imagine. What sag % do you need to run on your bikes to prevent bottoming out when in your truck is my question for that beast?

Can someone tell me if this is a good brand or a big box store bike?

Edit: never mind, found it listed at Wally World for $129

I'm sorry for some reason I didn't see these messages. I'm moving to somewhere in the Bothell area. Either Bothell, Lynnwood, or Kirkland.

I am definitely a beginner rider. I used to BMX in high school and I've always wanted to get onto trails so I figured it's never too late to start!

Do you guys recommend a good beginner bike? I was looking at used because they're still pricey but I can spend a lot less and not worry about it if it gets beaten up a bit.

that would depend on what you are doing.

definitely not a high end bike brand... never heard of it. If you want to get into Mt. biking, this is not the bike for you. if you need something to spin around in, down the street, local paved trails, might be fine.

    Not trying to be flippant...

Completed porcupine rim yesterday. Total was 18.9 down to the broken oar back in town for a much needed burger and beer.

Only went endo once. What a ride.

I rode Porcupine Rim in 1990 ... all of us had rigid bikes, front and rear. I almost went over the bars once, on the descent back to the river, but unfortunately saved it and came back down - on my top tube. Broke my tailbone and ruined our Utah bike vacation. Fortunately we had a Vanagon camper at the time and I rode in back lying on my stomach on the first day back on the road, while my wife drove. I remember the trail being tough, but of course in those days unless you were Hans Rey or John Tomac, it was SOP to hike-a-bike many sections that lots of people ride now. Thanks for the memories ... now I gotta go back!

'96 was my first time on a GT Pantera with a Mag 21 fork. Went OTB on a ledge that almost sent me down a cliff.

Question for those of you who use Rockymounts racks: Do any of you have toolboxes, and if so how have you made them work with the bikes on the front rail? I really want to get a box for fire/hunting/woodcutting gear but i wont if I can't have my bike in the bed too.
