Well instead of buying mid travel coilovers then eventually going LT and not getting as much as I paid I just decided to buck up and go with LT now :D let the research and reading commence

It’s seems like the differences are relatively small. But the other local truck running the kit is @Project Recon so at least if I run into issues I know someone near has the same stuff and can probably point me in the right direction.

After talking with Eric for a while yesterday, Micah at DSM for a little bit, and researching all night long I'm feeling pretty confident in my parts and install. Trickiest thing is going to be the truck being down because I'm sure it'll take me more than a day for everything, which also might limit the possibility of using my works shop for the install. Going to start sourcing all the little snap rings and boot pieces that might break during removal so I don't have to go to Toyota five thousand times for parts.

Now to figure out tires :burnrubber:

I heard rumors of spring this year.... I want them too but I need more of an AT out here in Montana. The roads are too bad to even consider a mud terrain again.

I just don’t know if an MT would be good for me because most of my trips take a long time on paved roads and not a ton of off road, but when it is it’s fairly mellow stuff. Granted it’s easy to change that but if I can squeeze another MPG out of an AT and keep driving 21k a year it’d be worth it.

I'm most likely going back to Kbro's again. I've ran multiple sets on different vehicles and always have been good tires. Just hate how they aren't true to their size. You could go ST Maxx's. I've heard they are a decent tire all around and cheaper than kbro's

Not a fan of the X3s? I saw a few side by side pics and the tread depth is way deeper on the Maxx’s. They just aren’t on Amazon in my size :annoyed:

Na, I'm never running a General again. Too damn heavy. Wasn't impressed with them for my driving but they did fine on the Rubicon. The X3's are cheap though.

Have you considered the Duratrac? I've been running them in a C load range and they seem to be a good all around tire.

Haha I bet. Yeah they’re one of the more reasonably priced options for sure.

I haven’t much yet but I’ll definitely look into them more, thanks man!

@MotoEd gunna try to throw my hammer hangers on tomorrow AM so if you see the truck up on jack stands come say what’s up!

Snorkel and MBRP exhaust went on today. Snorkel was a bit of a pain trying to tape down the template on the fender curves but turned out fine. Exhaust was easy and changed the sound a lot. I dig it for now but haven’t jumped on the highway yet so fingers crossed there’s not as much drone with the 488s.

It drones! That drive to Reno from Montana was annoying. Not sure what tools you are using for the archive hangers but I suggest getting cutting oil for drill bits. Was a pain to get those frame rivets off

God damnit. Well it can’t be as bad as my 94 Legacy Outback so we’ll see if I can handle it

I’ve got hardened bits, need to get some extra cutting wheels in case I go that route, so I’ll definitely get some oil. Did you drill from where the spare hangs out towards the frame? Trying to decide if a right angle drill would make things easier.

Lol my wife hates the exhaust.

Good bits is a start. I used a lot of cutting oil. I used my angle grinder with a cutting wheel and I made an X or t same thing and drilled in the middle of where both lines meet. I used a smaller bit then jumped to a bigger bit. I dont have a right angle drill but that could possibly help some.

My girlfriend doesn’t know it’s on yet but I have a feeling I’ll be in the same boat haha.

Maybe I’ll give it a try, I think it’s going to suck no matter what.

In town isn't bad. Its holding speed on the highway which drones out the cab.

Yeah not gunna lie, its going to suck. Unless someone comes over with a torch
