    My company at the time, and others, were able to save and protect the Survivor Tree, still a major focal point of the Memorial.

    I was living in OKC, on 43rd, when bomb exploded. Shook my whole house 40 blocks away. Great to see that tree and your association with it.

    I've got hundreds of pics (35mm) and hundreds of memories of that time. We were picking "evidence" out of the tree and passing it down to FBI types. Very surreal time...

    So far, Pete, Rich, Dave, Doc and myself for a 28th run, sorry @MatthewMay1. Have to work out some details with those making the run to the Bonfire, but can plan to meet in Sand Gap/Pelsor around 0930 morning of the 28th and work south via Indian Creek or Illinois Bayou and end up either close to Long Pool or Hector, depending on route, timing, etc. This meet point is close to middle for NWA folks and Central folks. Open to options and suggestions, and if NWA chooses not to join, can meet in Hector and work north and back south to meet up with Doc and Pete. All tentative at this point.

    So I was originally told I would have the 28th off, which I requested for the bonfire. I'm now being told that due to other people being out of town I may have to work. If I'm off my wife and I will probably join you guys before heading to bonfire.

    I'm not a pilot but I have some friends who are. They're very particular about their planes, as most pilots are, and where they will land and they love Byrd's. They go to their fly-in every year.

    It was last year too. We went down and spent some time with them last year. The girls all woke up Saturday morning and drove to the War Eagle Craft Fair because one day of off roading was enough for my wife.
