    In Buxton there is Robinson Transmission, I've never used them and not sure what they work on, but a buddy had a minivan trans fixed by them.

    This is almost useless, but I hear ad's on a Bangor/Augusta talk radio station (WVOM 103.5 for my area) for a trans shop that mentions transfer cases & rears. Here's the useless part, no name or tel # and not even sure where they are.

    Absolute Transmission in Hermon (they advertise on VOM ) is supposed to be good. I have not used them but they have a good reputation. Probably a little far for you though.

    Oh I know where rockwood is, hiked Kineo a few years back. We camp every year at Lilly bay. The last few years we talked about finding a place to camp on the rockwood side.
