cluch nice

I have 2003 Toyota Tacoma – 6-cylinder manual transmission, 4wheel.
In last 1.5 year I have a problem with nice every time I press a clutch ( more when I release a clutch).
I took my car to Toyota dealer twice they did something that it was OK for a while then the noise returned. Then I took it to Firestone Tire garage to change tires I told them about the problem. They told me that I need a new cylinder. I regret that I allowed them to change it - I am not sure that I got a quality cylinder.
A few days ago I took it again to garage and mechanic took pedal assembly apart. It helped some, noise is not much. However I hear noise when pressing it close to the floor.
I described the problem to mechanic, who works for the same company I do and does car work from his home/garage (he does a lot of work for my coworkers) and he told me right away over the phone that this is ‘throw out bearing problem..
I have a feeling that he is right, any comments, anyone????

 

is it more of a squeek noise?

 

It the noise is a squeak, it seems like it's a pretty common issue. Mine has squeaked since i bought it, i just turn the radio up, it isn't doing any harm.

changing TO bearing, will it help? Or I need to 'sit on it'

 

yeah my 99 did that.. its common for them to do that.. it doesnt hurt anything that i know of. its just annoying... i wouldnt worry about it if its just a noise and you dont notice anything different while driving.

 

Search for "clutch squeak" on this forum. It is a famous issue.

One squeak comes from a crappy plastic bushing under the dash that breaks. The sound can be intermittent. You can replace the bushing or use another workaround. Search for detailed writeups on this forum.

The other squeak, from under the truck (more like a creak sound), is from a pivot point on the clutch fork inside the transmission bell housing. This can't be lubed without removing the transmission, so ignore that until your clutch needs to be replaced.

 

somehwat true. If its the creak coming from the transmission you can spray some white lithium grease on the throwout bearing from the rubber boot on the drivers side of the tranny. It alieves the problem for a while. Mine did this for almost 6 months, then my clutch went. I replaced the whole clutch assembly and the TO. 2 months after, the noise is back.

 

Huh. I heard it was specifically the pivot on the clutch release fork, and when I got under to look at listen right there at the rubber boot, it sure sounded like it, but I didn't want to go spraying a bunch of lube in there without knowing what it would hit.

When you had it apart, did you lube this pivot point? I have never had it apart, but I examined the FSM diagrams. I don't even know how "lubeable" it is.

Not that I have ever had a clutch assembly apart in my life...just trying to figure out the exact cause and solution.

 

i had the same squeek since day 1 up until i had the clutch replaced a few months ago, now no more squeek but who knows for how long...
