That's not the conversation I was having. My first post which you debated against said sure if you take them as is the Pro is the best but not when you level the playing field by modding lower trims. And leveling the playing field does not mean modding both. It means taking both to an equivalent price.

See above. Have to get them to the same price point for reasonable comparison.

My debate removed the relativity of money spent by framing the comparison at an equal price point. Yours does not and is critically flawed as a result.

Again, no. Price has to be normalized to determine the better deal, which is what I was debating from my very first post. Fair enough a stock $45k TRD Pro is a better truck than a stock '92 Ranger. Even a a $45k Pro is a better truck than a $27k SR5 but I never said otherwise.

Just because Toyota marks it up doesn't prove anything. It is what it is regardless of the price. Objectively it's not a good deal comparatively speaking. Subjectively is for the buyer to decide.

Why attack me? Attack the argument instead. I was merely conceding ground at a viable point in the debate.

What you think is apples to apples is not apples to apples with respect to the debate we are having. See my original post.

Fair enough warranty brings a smidge of value to the table in the comparison of modded SR5 vs TRD Pro but not much in my book. Anything non-mod related would still be covered on the SR5 so in large it would be a wash.

Raptor is an entirely different discussion. It is way more truck relative to the base F150 than a TRD Pro ever thought about being relative to a base Tacoma.

Of course, and that's why the comparison must be done at an equivalent price point, to remove that from the debate.

Good to know how much the PRO suspension can go for. I'll be selling mine in about a month too since I purchased Fox 2.5 extended travel front and rear.

Congrats on the purchase man! I love the ICON products. Thought about buying some for a long while, but there was too good of a sale for Fox's to pass up at a local shop. Did you get one of the stage's or just the coilovers/shocks?

Thanks. It's just the coilovers with the remote reservoir. None of the fancy externally adjustable valves or anything.

GEEBUS! I thought the Anti Pro was strong on T4R.org.... HAHAHAH who gives a fuck what the OP bought and is modding..... I am looking forward to the build. Anyone that spends $45k on a truck and rips out $5k in parts to install $10k in parts is good to go in my book!

The bronze set are 18x9 +0 and the mercury silver set are 16x8 -20. Both are discontinued in the OG finish without the engraving. Both are available in +0 offset still, check with Chuck over at showstoppersusa, i think he has a couple of sets in stock and will be getting another shipment this month!

For the record, I bought a brand new Pro a few weeks ago, and I'm already wanting to lift it, mostly so I can get the wheels and and tires and the LOOK that I want.
I love the responses the OP has given, because it's the same way I feel!
I also LAUGH when people say the suspension is the only or biggest part of what makes a Pro a Pro... You'll never hear someone who actually owns a Pro say that! I actually like ALL of the things that make a Pro a Pro- the interior is SEXY, the hood is badass, the TRD exhaust sounds good, the wheels are better than the Offroad model wheels- but I wish they were at least 17's so I could get the tires I want, and something most people don't even look at that also caught my eye is the headlights and tail lights. I spent HOURS on my last truck blacking out my headlights and adding projectors- don't have to on my PRO! I also like that the fog lights are black. I hate all that chrome crap on the other models.
What makes me laugh the most is all the people who say the suspension is the only or biggest thing that makes a Pro a Pro- they're the same people ordering Pro or Pro-style grills, blacked out head lights, and $3k suspension kits (which makes them 1 to 2" higher than a Pro... WooHoo! LMAO)
Lots of things make a Pro a Pro, including bragging rights and the awesome feeling we Pro owners get when your girl breaks her neck to look at our truck when we pass by you, so I won't give two shits about removing the stock Fox suspension and adding whatever 6" lift kit I decide to get. And I'll laugh at every negative comment I receive. Lol

That’s exactly what we say when the haters say the only thing that makes a Pro a Pro is the suspension... Whatever you have to tell yourself, man.

Ok, I like Tacoma’s, and I like Tacoma Pro, but this statement is just pure bullshit. There are very few people in the general population, let alone babes on the sidewalk, that can tell the difference between an SR and a Pro. Seriously fella....it’s like saying the babes are into you because you play with Lego. It’s possible, but not very plausible.

Calm down turbo. I can't say I've had one chick "break her neck" trying to look at my truck. Now, there's been a handful of dudes that have, but no girls :notsure:
