Looking for JBL E-Tune specs and info

    Quick question about my taco.

    I have a 2011 OR with the JBL system and E-Tune. What exactly does that consist of?
    Just better speakers and slightly different factory tuning? Or what all is different.

    Is there a sub or extra amp somewhere, or anything? Just curious

    Better speakers, front and back
    8" subwoofer behind rear seat
    5 channel amp running it all

    Non-JBL are just cheap fronts/rears run off the head unit

    Even in my 2011 ?

    Where is the amp? And is the sub in the back back right behind the plastic? Cuz the back left is for storage.

    The reason I ask is I just got a new Pioneer 7200NEX installed and it doesn't sound the way the NEX7100 before it sounded.

    Wondering if this installer did something the last one didn't. I feel like the sub is missing. Idk

    Amp and sub are behind the back passenger seat I believe.

    As far as sound goes, it may just be radio settings. Hopefully the installer used the proper harness (expensive PAC RP4.2-TY11)

    That (or similar) is needed to properly interface with the JBL amp.

    Right.. I feel like they might have missed the amp, or maybe they missed it the first time. I used a professional shop.

    My stereo got stolen. That's why I went from 7100 to 7200. Here's the harness he used.

    First go around I had a remote shut off, and steering harness both. This shop said one harness does everything. This does the job of both. Says aftermarket amplification. Idk.

    Actually.. now after looking at info.... Maybe the first install was wrong. And this new one is right. Maybe I just need to fine-tune it.

    Here's what they used a few years ago. (Googling suggests the
    $70 TYTO-01 JBL Amplifier Interface Harness, BLACK
    TYTO-01 is for older trucks) like 03-08... does anyone know?

    I would just ensure all of your speakers are outputting sound. You most likely won't have fade front/back control, so just put your ear up to each one and make sure its working. Including the subwoofer.

    With the axxess harness, I dont know if it lets you adjust settings on the factory amp like the PAC module does. We always use the PAC for the JBL system because unfortunately, the settings (bass/mid/treble/fade/balance/etc) are all actually set inside the amp, not the factory head unit.

    I'm able to adjust fade front/back, left right, along with bass and EQ settings. There are a bunch of LPF (low pass filter) controls on the Pioneer that make a big difference to the stereo sound overall.

    Man, sure wish what it was all set at on my old stereo. But some losers had to steal it. lol.
