Put a shorter antenna on the F150 today. Stock was 32", I ordered a 21" I hate really stubby antennas, but the stock one hit the garage door so this was halfway in between.

Also put on the OEM tailgate damper. Not sure how I feel about it yet.

FYI, I cross-referenced mine to a Purolator. Number is L14476. It's about 1/3 the price of the Briggs filter and it's bigger!

I have a 19 HP Vanguard V-Twin on mine, but I think all Briggs engines are the same filter size.

Maybe you're just mad you didn't get invited yet again? Cause you have a real great way of trying to make friends.

Or maybe you're not mad cause Rebecca wasn't there this time?

Anyone happen to know anything about septic systems?

Long story short, I have a house that passed MA Title V about a year ago. I have the report and it has a section where they sketched the layout of the system. It has measurements down to the inch, and it shows where the leaching trenches are. How confident can I be that this information is correct?

I have a hill with awful drainage that supposedly starts about 25 ft beyond the last leaching trenches (I made the whole thing worse by clearing the huge amount of thorny, vine growth on the hill that was kind of holding it all together). I want to try to fix the drainage this year and clear the remainder of the messy overgrown stuff on one side, but I don't know if I can trust the Title V sketch and assume I'm not disturbing any part of the septic system. Another clue--the hill is very steep, difficult to even walk up and I have to weedwack it because it's too difficult to push a walk-behind mower up. I wouldn't think they'd use a hill like that as part of a system anyway, as the water would go down the hill rather than into the soil. Am I right about that?

I put a stubby on my F-150 then when I moved out of Raleigh and needed reception again it was stuck and I couldn't get it off. I'll never do it again. A lot of guys just chop the top off of the stock one and put the ball back on.

Thanks! I'll check this out for next time.

I used to sell houses in Raleigh and had to find septics a lot. Get a long, skinny metal pole you can stick in the ground a few feet and check. You should hit the tank if its near where it says, if that is accurate then the rest should be.

Most places in MA don't fuck around with their health regulations, so I am guessing if its only a year old, it should be where they say it is. Obviously without looking I have no idea.

    @guitarjamman

The dimensions on th leach field should be should be balls on accurate if the contractor who installed it was competent. If the contractor was a fly by night, it’s anyone’s guess how accurate the measurements truly are.

That’s what I did with my Tacoma, F150 and coming soon to the F250. I chop it so it’s just taller than the cab so I can use it like a whisker. It’s good piece of mind knowing if that clears, the rest of the truck definitely will.

It's not a year old--it could be as much as 60 years old, I have no idea when it was put in. The Title V was what was done a year ago. The last owner had to do it to sell the house and I have a copy of the report. The report indicates that no one had plans for the system and no one knew the age of the system but the inspector drew a diagram with dimensions for everything.

You think they went around with a pole to find the pipes for the leach field? That would make sense to me. I know they dug up the d-box and leveled it, in addition to looking in the tank.

What the diagram shows makes sense when I went out and paced it. For instance, there's a pergola with a concrete pad out back and the trenches stop before it, which would explain why they put that where they did.

This is what I ordered: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ZYTVIHG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

Looks exactly the same as the stock antenna, just a foot shorter. It's slightly lower than the roof now. I was trying to decide between it and the 27", but I thought the 27" might still just barely scrape.

I almost cut mine down, but wasn't sure if I'd get the ball back on or if it would look right. Plus, this way I can go back to stock easily if I need to.

Afternoon boys and girl! Hope everyone is doing well on this fine Sunday. I've spent most of the day outside playing with the kids and looking forward to digging into the chili that's been cooking all day in the Crock-Pot!
Here's the new wheels, currently getting some maintenance done, but should have it back and ready to start modding this week. First thing is removing the steps and flares, and throwing my 295's on.:D
