Sorry about your truck, that sucks. Yes the truck is a total loss. Good luck with getting everything straightened around. If you don't mind me asking, what the heck happened ?

I was 6 hours into an 8 hour drive late at night, took my eyes off the road long enough not to see the truck in front of me hit his brakes. I tried to brake/swerve out of the way but they were pretty much at a dead stop and i was doing 75. Luckily they were fine and I manage to walk away with a few cuts from the window glass. Hoping USAA will give me 20-23k for it.... we will see..

Whoa, that's a heck of a hit. Pretty sure any insurance co. would total it.

It doesn’t look like the air bags deployed, you must of made a quick move to the right at the last second to avoid a direct smasharoo.

Man that must of been one hell of a hard hit ! Glad everyone is okay. I would think your right in the ballpark with 20-23. Have the KBB and NADA values plus also go on Cargurus.com and similiar sites and get a bunch of similiar trucks values (esp from dealers) so you can show them if need be. Wish you luck and please let us know. Once again glad you were able to walk away.

That's what I was thinking. One of those millisecond the wrong way type of deals could have been disastrous. Once again I'm impressed with the force these trucks will take while enabling the operator to walk away.

Last total loss (theft) I had with USAA, they used autotrader and based replacement value on average cost of comparable vehicles for sale in my area. Not sure if they still do it that way, but it will give you a better idea of value when it comes to negotiating a settlement.

Frame damage like that is usually a total loss with just about any insurance company. New truck time!

Ouch!! Totalled, but glad you're okay. You can always get another Taco, you're tougher to replace.
