Same here. I got my yeti before copy cats started popping up. If I were to do it again, I’d still buy the yeti for two reasons, they seem to encourage and support people getting outdoors in an age where 9 out of 10 people you pass are on a cell phone and two, I don’t like copy cats.

Not sure if its as cheap as you want but I bought an Engel Deep Blue last year for about half the price of a Yeti and it has been amazing.

Careful with the knockoffs. Frosty is one that a bunch of people here bought during a group buy. I bought one for my parents and it’s badly discolored which we can figure out why. Others had lids that didn’t seel and let out all the cold air.

Ozark seem ok, I hated the rubber latches when I tested them in the store. I have a tumbler of theirs and it works great.

I personally would either go big and get a quality brand like Yeti, Orion, Grizzly etc or just get a cheap Coleman. All the in between seem to be a crap shoot and don’t work any better then an old Coleman.

Btw there was an Orion cooler GB here a couple years ago and I snagged one. Still very expensive but damn is it built well and badass looking. My 3yr old son will one day inherit it.

Not sure if Made in the USA is important to you but Igloos are manufactured in Texas and they are a solid alternative. Look at the Igloo Sportsman.

I have one. An actually on vacation using it now. I can't see needing anything tougher.

I rock the one from mono price. It is great quality and keeps everything cold. Did a desert trip and had ice after 3 days. They are rocking a deal on this right now, and you get free shipping. I go the 50l and it is plenty big.

I have the orange Ozark trail one as well. Keeps ice over 10 days just like my buddies yeti. 127 doll hairs. When opened in warm weather, the air shrinks as soon as it's closed and you have to vent the drain to open it, just like a yeti.

I've been eye balling this "lifetime" 55 qt unit from Wal-Mart. It's $100.

I was bouncing around and standings on it in the store the other day. I can't see any difference in build than the Ozark trail I have.

Bought an ozark trail and listen to the wife bitch about cost and Yada, Yada. After our first trip with it, she suggested to replace the other old style Coleman with another Ozark trail. We now have one for our "fridge/freezer" when camping that I use a Tupperware like container that I freeze a block of ice in, to keep everything dry. When you open it, you can feel the cold air. And the other we use for drinks. Can't say if it is better than any of the others, but a buddy has yeti and I would be willing to say the ozark trail works just as well, even if it's slightly worse, it's not hundreds of dollars worse.

Hahahahah that is way over simplified. The igloo marine coolers are double walled with Styrofoam in between, it will last a while even with abuse. The expensive ones have semi-colsed cell hybrid density foam sand winch, and they have a vacuum pulled on the interior to remove as many air molecules as possible. It is impossible to transfer conductive energy through a perfect vacuum. But if it ever gets punctured, probably wouldn't work for crap any more

Don't like copycats you say? Henry Ford invented the automobile so why are you driving a Toyota then if you don't like copycats?

I get a laugh out of that mindset.

Lol no coolers hold ice for 10 days. Not unless you put the cooler inside a freezer the whole time.
