I think they only confiscated the trucks under recall, not the ORs and Pro trucks with leaky diffs that were fixed under warranty and not recall.

Off roads pros and manual trans trucks are not under the H0G recall. what kind of gas mileage are you getting to think you have a hole in your gas tank?

 

Went from 17ish to 14 on the last 2 tanks. Can't even get 300 miles on the tripmeter.

 

Don't worry what the computer says, calculate how much you fill and how much you burn by miles travelled to get an accurate amount.

Any mods or is the truck stock?

Stop and go driving or highways? If highway what speed are you driving?

My truck usually gives me 386 miles on the computer to go til empty, the last fill up gave me over 400 miles but by actual calculations I'm averaging 21 mpgs after 2 years.

 

I noticed your a Manual. Made me think what are the optimal shift points? I know we give up some mpgs, but that's a lot.

 

280 miles on trip, 19 gallons on fill up= 14.7. when filling up it says I'll get 368 (changed from 353). I have a roof rack, mud flaps, and ditch lights. And I drive maybe 70.

 

Yep, running out the gears like you're a drag racer will drain the tank quicker.

 

Optimal are probably 3-3.5. I tend to stay a tad lower, around 2-3000 rpm.

 

And good Lord, this isn't the first time I've driven a vehicle. I understand when you ask for more, you pay more. This isn't the case.

 

What roofrack, the OEM? Try lowering the speed, I can only average 55-65 on my daily 40 mile commute (1800 rpms) for my 21mpgs and I have the OEM roofrack, sliders, a bed toolbox full of stuff and 2 inch lift.

 

Frontrunner. I try and keep them down. The issue is, I've had the truck for over a year and now it's fallen on it's face.

 

Ya thats where I am typically, but the truck likes 3k plus, I am wondering if it would make a difference to stay up there more.

 

Slow down and see if the mileage improves, also winter gas has about a 20-25% mpg decrease.

 

I'm always down for that haha. I do think it's a mixture of winter fuel and the rack (maybe). It would be sweet if they fixed the diff and it improved ha

 

They'll fix the diff, just not the same day you take it in unless you're lucky and they have the parts onhand.

Frontrunner rack at 70 ain't helping. How long has the rack been on the truck?

 

The rear diff in my 16 started seeping recently. Never received a recall notice. I torqued the nuts, none were loose. On the positive side, this is the last excuse I needed to install 4.88s.

Any sort of deflector on the front of the rack, any stuff in the rack?

Still running stock tires right?

 

It's a warranty issue. They WILL fix it for free.....Common issue with a lot of early Gen 3's
