TRD Pro Grill - Arrived Broken

Ok I may be over thinking this, but my Pro Grill arrived with one clip broken. Those of you that have swapped it out, is one broken clip not a big deal vs. the hassle of returning it to China?

 

You mean your replica pro grille that came from China is damaged and you aren’t sure if you should return it?

I think if you hit them up they will either return it, give you a discount, or send you another one without taking the other one back

 

Yes, I should have been more detailed. Just wondered if 1 broken clip would be a big deal or not. I did contact them, waiting for a reply.

 

One broken tab isn't a big deal as far as if the grille will stay on properly, but why not return it and get one that isn't broken if you can and aren't in a hurry?

I had one broken tab on my grill. They offered to refund 15% which I accepted. I fixed the tab with glue.

 

Depends on your personal definition of a big deal.

Some on here got it with one or two tabs broken but used epoxy to set it back, those tabs are now the strongest ones!

You can negotiate the amount you want back. I felt $20 was reasonable when they forgot to send me the letters, and they obliged and sent me the letters. Trust me they rather refund you a portion because they don’t fix them when they get it back AND eBay makes them cover return shipping as well as full refund. They lose the shipping costs both ways, probably around $40 for them, so asking for $20 back is reasonable enough since the cost of the Chinese grill isn’t much in the first place. They still are making a killing by having you keep it. I can’t imagine it costs them more than $20-$40 to produce it.

 

Have you looked up what it will cost to return it to China? I mailed a smaller box to Japan and it cost $60.

 

I figured it would be expensive to ship back, hence the hassle. Perhaps as a couple of responses before they will offer a discount or EBAY will make them pay for return shipping. Guess I'll wait on their response.

They do like positive feedback- the last two things I got came with gifts - a cool USB computer LED light and a car cigarette lighter LED maplight. Be nice and they will work with you.

 

I think they should offer you a discount but if they decide to send a replacement send me a message, I'd be interested in purchasing this one from you. One clip shouldn't make a difference.

 

Return it too China,I don't think so way too much money too send it back,you bought a cheap replica you take your chances.

 

Simple ask ebay too refund you,if you paid with paypal,one of the great things about paypal is the buyer protection.

 

True, but he has to go through the first few steps first, start communication, if no agreed results, then open a case, then eBay will refund you full amount, you keep the product, buy from another source and resell this one to re-coop most of the costs! However, as mentioned above, being nice at first and promising a good rating/review usually is worth more to them than the small portion they will agree to give back to you.

 

This hurts my head to read.

 

My OEM grille came with 3 missing tabs. Installed just fine without them. No I didn't pay 500 dollars.

 

Fix it and email the seller, you’ll likely get a discount.

I also received mine with 2 broken tabs. Easy fix and no need to send back. Repaired with plastic epoxy I bought at Lowes for $7. Take what credit they will give you by keeping the grill. Fix it yourself and be happy looking at your new Pro grill. Not worth the hassle to ship back. Btw, the epoxy was very strong. The repaired clips did not break on install.
