I'm assuming you meant passenger side?

Yes passenger side. Thanks that could have been confusing because I actually showed a pic of the drivers side toed bolt (which we don’t do anything with) because I hadn’t gotten a pic of that until I backed the truck in the garage and couldn’t get to the passenger side without pulling back out.

    Parts List:
(prices I paid from Partznet included for reference)

    1 - 90980-12A30 Housing Connector F $5.99

    1- 82998-74030 Terminal Repair W W $12.60

    1- 82998-74040 Terminal Repair W W $12.60

OP, please tell me why you needed two different terminal repairs? What are those? You got any picture of them? I am assuming the housing connector is the connector with tow wires, correct?
    Thank you in advance.

The housing connector is the connector with the two wires- but it doesn’t come with the two wires or the metal pins in it, it is just plastic with a few holes in it.

The “terminal repairs” are the metal pins with wires attached that go into the plastic housing. Two different part numbers so you can tell them apart easier (one has a black stripe) you can also buy two of the same part number instead of one each, I figured for the same price it may make wiring slightly easier.

May be possible but at a cost of $200 per door, i can just reach for the front door. Just sucked that we didnt have this on the pass side. Now it wont be that bad once i get this installed.

This mod wins the forum in the “shit toyota shoulda done” category. God heard my prayers. I’m on this! I figured might as well since I’m already changing them all from my limited chrome to body colored...but now instead of a $40 handle I’m getting an extra $144 handle instead for the passenger front too..

Does the new handle need to be programmed to read the RFID that it is to be matched with from the FOB? How does it know your FOB from any other Tacoma owner that has a touch to enter FOB?

No programming, it is really more like an antenna or sensor that is connected to the Smart Key ECU. If you were to change out that ECU you would have to reprogram.

Gotcha, but I can still use my FOB and not a Lexus card, right?

Correct. The Lexus card and the fob are the same thing except the card has no buttons to push.

Great job! Wish there was a Tacoma owner in Northern Va that has electrical skills... I would pay him or her to QB this mod. I don’t have the courage or skill to do this solo.
    Nice write up for sure.

My wife is REALLY going to love this! I dont think she will even question the $200 to buy all the parts and materials necessary. She gets so annoyed when i open the door on my side, get in and forget to unlock the rest of the doors. Now even if i am taking my time grabbing the driver handle, she can just grab the pass handle and open it up. I just need to be aware of my surroundings so i dont get a stranger opening up the pass door after i change the settings in the headunit.
