After the diff and Tcase flush I had time to bang out an idea I had for a couple months now. Long story short winching at night can be tough, most of the time you light up the recovery but what about the winch. I’ve had scenarios I wish I could see the winch better at night so I added a winch light. Will help seeing the line spool in evenly, make sure you don’t unspool too much, see the clutch lever, etc.. I had all material laying around so it was like a free mod.

Aries pro series grill guard, Rigid Off Road LED lights, Snugtop Rebel Shell, Go Rhino step bars, Wheelers AAL Progressive 3 pack, Toytec 3/4 inch front spacer, Kicker 600 watt amp and new full range speakers, seat covers, rear diff breather mod, anytime fog light mod.

So, all my buddies that i off-road with use FRS radios, when the old lady and I have to take 2 vehicles (6 kids between us, not all of them live with us) we use FRS radios, during our move/drive to Virginia from California we plan to use FRS radios between the 2 vehicles. Have a set of Midland GMRS/FRS radios, so I decided to install a 5 watt GMRS radio in my truck. And yes, I have my license. Tested it out. Went and got gas and beer at the gas station, a little over 3 miles away. Got pretty darn good reception. Pretty impressed. Old lady asked if I really needed it. Well, no. But I wanted it.

I'm still stock gears. 85w-140 is recommended for regear. This is a combo recipe idea after chatting with a couple local guys. I have an overbuilt heavy truck, the heavier gear oil will be good for me. Second flush doing this..

Wrapped my silver gauge cluster things, looks sweet. Then I re routed the RCA cables to my amp, and all of a sudden the right rear speaker stopped playing music. No idea what it could be.

The same shit everyone else has.

Finally found a cheap shell locally.

Not colormatched, but the black doesnt look much different than the Bestop thats been on the truck for the last 3 years.

I may end up having it painted to match at some point, but for now Im gonna focus some effort in finding and trading this shell with someone with a silver one on a black truck.

Pretty simple to install -

$100 PL5400 Black Manual Tailgate Lock with Bolt Codeable Technology for Toyota Tacoma

PL5400 is the model I used.

Also installed LED interior lights which resulted in a blown fuse - didn't see that one in the Amazon reviews.
