I was just joking with you. We are super thankful for our 1 bath house as well. Like you said it's a roof over our heads, could be a lot worse. After working in all these 2nd and 3rd homes that are 5000-9000sf has made me realize I don't want to live that lifestyle it is such a waste. All I want is a 2 bed 2 bath house with a nice kitchen for the wife and a shop/ large garage for me with a lot of land as a bonus.

    Dirt riders.

Riding will be fs roads, single track, just easy exploring for a while. Riding with a bit of hiking around mine sites or scenic areas.

For armor, it a better idea to get it separate instead of built into a jersey/pants? Or maybe a jersey with built in elbow protection and get a vest that protects chest/back.

Knee braces... Good investment for weak knees for how i plan to ride? I won't be sending it off jumps on propose or rallying at 60mph across the top of whoops.

Gloves.. are the downsides to the longer gloves just that or other annoyances. I'm guessing they provide a little more wrist abrasion protection.

Armor, I don't use any. Get way too hot while riding. If you are doing FS roads you shouldn't be crashing.

Knee braces, same as armor for your situation. You shouldn't need them for easy riding.

Gloves get regular dirtbike gloves, I think you are thinking street bike gloves or touring gloves that go up the wrist. Again, way too hot for trail riding.

Main things you need is good helmet and goggles, good boots and gloves. I do recommend dirtbike pants as well, they are tougher and designed to be comfortable while riding, not sure how they do with hiking though.

A dollar each. Both of them won a couple things. Soft shackles, ARB single compressor, gift cards, ARB air guage. Can't remember who got what lol

I'm sure I'll crash... That's part of riding but I'd like to jump back on after learning my lesson. So I'll probably start with the basics plus knee and elbow protection so i won't be worried about pushing the limits in a safe area to learn. Once i start romping through tight stuff I'll up the armor as needed. I know that it must be comfortable.. i had good pads for the mountain bike that i never wore since they were annoying.

Revzilla had a section for the "gauntlet" (i think they were called) gloves that went higher up the arm for dirt.

I always wore full gear on the street in Florida... Sweat wipes off, scars don't. I figure the knee braces were overkill since I never had pain bombing down stuff on a mountain bike.

I agree with @EAF4Runner get good boots that will be confutable to hike in and a good helmet. Gloves and pants are fine regular dirt bike stuff. No need to go super fancy or expensive. Regular goggles unless you get a street or dual sport helmet.

Your not going fast so armor is not needed. And unless your knees are giving out there is no reason for that either.

Don't compare dirtbike riding to street riding. When I had my street bike I had leather jacket with pads, full length gloves Kevlar jeans and boots. I even had a full leather race suit for those days that I was only going to be riding fast.
On the dirt you will be going a lot slower(don't get me wrong, crashes still hurt). If you really are just going to be exploring and taking it easy on the trails then forget about the armor for now. But, if you really are clumsy and you can't ride a motorcycle then get all the armor you can.

I have been looking into getting a neck brace. Just because necks are pretty important.

Please don't skimp on your body armor for riding. And visibility is HUGE! If I could ride again, I wouldn't hesitate to ride with a jacket that had LED blinking lights on it. So many knuckle-heads out there; NOT focused on the task of actually DRIVING! Make yourselves SEEN & HEARD! Enjoy the ride, make it home safe!
