Well maybe I should have said that they texted me a link to my order and tracking number. When I click on the tracking number it says "Order Processed: Ready for UPS."

About two posts into this whole chain of posts about shipping updates is the most likely answer: that Mat got shipping info prepared early because he hadn't expected the dongles to he held up at customs. Furthermore, I highly doubt you guys will be getting shipping updates from UPS on a Sunday. So your info will continue to say processed and not much else until sometime tomorrow

What this means is that he generated a slip and tracking number, but has yet to ship it... Probably due to the dongle delay. Once he drops it off at a ups store (which are closed today) you will get an update that says it has been received by ups.

450 miles in on 1.04 and it's driving beautifully. Not sure if the cooler temps or what but the stock-like exhaust vibes I spoke of a few days ago seem to have settled down considerably. It does still hold 3rd in some scenarios where 4th would be more economical but that aside (very very very very minor) I honestly can't think of anything that's not to like about this version of the tune. Predictable, smooth, powerful (but more controlled and linear power than prior versions IMO). Snappy shifts at 3-3,500 rpms on the nose every time that are effortless. Doesn't hunt between 5 or 6th all the time on the highway, sure it likes 5th below 70 under load but I'm OK with that. accelerating from 6th the transition down to 4th to pass is so smooth I actually had to look at my app to confirm whether I was in 4th or 5th.

Gonna clock 1,000 mi on this one before posting an updated review in the other thread but just like 1.03 I'm seeing it continue to improve as the miles roll on to the extent that even with a potential change to the 3rd gear hang I'd be unlikely to want to run out and flash it...

One other thing that's also interesting - I can't get my chirping fuel pump to chirp at ALL with 1.04. I was gonna take it in to get it replaced under the new TSB b/c it's done it to varying degrees since the truck had 1500 miles on it. But at this point I won't bother... at least not for awhile

Got my chirping fuel pump replaced under warranty. The part cost Toyota $1300! Labor $150. The new one is Really quiet with the tune.

Just passed 600 miles on the 1.04/87 including a 300 mile day this weekend.
    Impressions:
Slower than 50mph driving is great. If it holds the gears just a touch longer during 7/10th driving it'd be perfect. I could easily accept the current low speed parameters as the final software release.

100 miles of straight interstate convinced me I MUCH prefer the highway feel of 1.03. Needing a lighter touch on the pedal to keep a 65-70mph pace somehow takes the fatigue out of driving. There's so much throttle position change need for gentle rolling hills it feels like....driving an RV.

Spent 50 miles on 2 lane roads and passing performance is night and day. Starting a pass at 50mph, drops instantly to 2nd and pulls cleanly to redline. What a work of art!

    1.04. Kbro2s. ICONS.
I couldn’t agree with you more.

    1.03 held 5th and 6th better. 1.04 I find it getting into 5th a lot while cruising.

1.04 is way better in 1-4 gears.

Might flash back to 1.03. 1.04 has smoother shifting but not as good on the highway in 5-6 gear.

I considered it. But want to wait till I get at least 500 miles on 1.04.

Towing my zero turn with 1.04 got me better MPGs though. I tow the same thing same route once a week.

Sometimes good fuel and some Lucas cylinder cleaner does the trick. Good for you

Long highway trip on cruise with 1.04 netted me 25 mpg. Best mileage I ever saw stock was 23. This was at moderate speed (just under 65) on rolling terrain in the hilly part of southern OH, so lots of 300 ft elevation gain/loss. Stock truck other than the tune and a topper.

glad to see it's not just me! either the things break in after a long time and the chirping subsides OR its supposed to chirp and if it's not, you aren't getting enough fuel pressure :) and/or all this VPower has kept the pump in tip/top shape

I've got 450 miles of pure highway coming up this weekend. That's what I'm holding on for my review as my highway drives have been within 20 miles of the city since flashing. I will say that with 1.03 while it did hold 6th more, when I monitored manifold pressure it was way up there when it was holding 6th on inclines and whatnot so from a reliability standpoint spending more time in 5th could be better on engine health vs. forcing it to push 6th under load.

Definitely agree 1-4 are incredible and the downshifts from 6 to 4 are remarkable to pass IMO.

I won't be flashing back to 1.03 though - though I'm sure more refinements will come to address the shifting stuff. Nothing has ever been as smooth, snappy, and linear as 1.04 in my truck. Especially with a wife and infant in the truck often on the weekends, the softer tip-in is appreciated though the power is there when you need and want it!

Mat, are the throttle maps gear based?
