I was wondering why they build with only one standard. WA has a lot of low light days during the year depending where you are, so this was my thinking as well. Thanks, B.

Another ADV Rider saying thanks for making this an amazingly informative thread. After nearly 20 years, I'm thinking of moving into a 3rd gen and when I do, I've got this bookmarked for mods.

I ran into your Pops earlier this week, trying to get a pic for the "Spotted thread". By the time I had a good opportunity to snap one, he pulled into his driveway. Feeling a little strange about Taco stalking some dude, I found myself literally blocking his driveway with my phone out, hanging out the window. It was at that moment my coworker says "Hell, might as well get out and talk to him now." As we talked, he told me about you and your guys plans for the twins. So I posted in the spotted thread and @friendlywithbears directed me here.

Glad to see you on here, and welcome to TW. Subbed

Yep that's the thought. If I end up wanting to camp in one place for a few days I don't want to be forced to drive the truck just to charge the batteries and keep the fridge and heater running. With extra capacity I have the ability to camp in one place for longer if needed, and the Solar will help extend that even further as long as there is light available.

I'm surprised to see so many tri-citians, tri-towners, tri-cities people, whatever we're called on here. I'm not sure why that's such a surprise but it's kind of cool, I would be down to get something together at some point. Very cool setups you've got going by the way, those trucks are top notch.

Installed the SSO Slimline Hybrid bumper on my fathers truck on Friday.

I'll post a couple pictures of the install here but I typed up a complete How-To article on installing the Bumper/Winch over at TacomaWorld. For full install details and pics click here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...nstall-guide-how-to-article-with-tips.545427/

Getting the bumper, winch and light bar ready for installation on the truck.

Truck trimmed to accept the bumper . We did the same modifications to the factory lower bracing that we did on my build to allow clearance for the WARN ZEON winch, more details in the link at the top of this post.

And the bumper installed. I really like the looks of this bumper on the truck, looks very factory and clean.

So yesterday I was running around town and stopped at REI to look for a hat. When I pulled into the parking lot I saw my fathers truck already there so I parked next to him and went inside. My father was already inside.....looking at hats LOL.

I followed all your builds and still keeping a focus on your posts, cause they are all really good thougt out and documented including your foto skills.
Your are a really good influencer, maybe the best I know cause you influenced me also :)
Are your builds sponsored somehow or completely privat funded?
I am just asking cause building costs so much time and documenting the process does at least last the same time on the computer...
It fascinates me how you manage your time/ projects... Maybe some ideas on this topic to learn? :)

Hey man, I mounted up my Switch-Pros 9100 today using your write up. The Powertray and accessories made it a breeze. I'm mechanically inclined, but electronics have always been a breaking point and I couldn't have done it without the write up. Appreciate it!

Thanks. Our builds are funded by my father and I, we've built the funds up slowly over years of building and selling our past vehicles. If someone wants to sponsor me though just get a hold of me lol :). I enjoy the process of documenting the builds as I go, it's fun and hopefully helps others if they are working on their own trucks. Sharing info and pics is what makes these forums great.

On time management....well there is never enough time in the day lol. I spend a lot of my free time in the shop working on projects, it's kind of a hobby in itself. I try and squeeze in work when I can between other tasks and have a wife that is very understanding :) Documenting the builds does take a lot of time to manage the photo's, host them and type up the reports but I enjoy that process as well. I usually type up the reports at the end of the day when I'm tired from the days work, I'll sit on the couch and do the report updates while I watch TV, makes me feel like I'm still doing something productive :)

Yep...snagged one exactly like the one in the link above. I wore my old one out, those hats work great here in the desert.
