    How long were you off work with the first knee? A coworker had bilateral knee replacement last summer and was off for 14 weeks. Currently I am attempting to make the lubricating shot (monovisc) suffice until I have enough leave saved. It's rough some days, probably not as rough as your pain.

    Hello ladies and gents! Geez your a post-a-lot bunch! I cant keep up! If I'm gone a few days, Im wayyy behind. Anyway. Hope everyones well. Im headed off to the gym for the first time in ages with a personal trainer. Time to knock off this stress-eating/weight gain that Ive been doing since the fire... Im sure I'll be hurting later.

    Anyone else take up the gym habit after 50? Any success? Advice?

    Thanks Doc.
    Inane banter.

    I keep trying to go, 530am is the best time for me to go to the gym, but life gets in the way.

    12-14 weeks is probably about right for being out of work. I have 4 weeks of physical torcher scheduled for now.
    I had a job when I had my first knee replacement done but I was out work because of back and knee issues for 7 months before I had my knee replaced. The place I worked at kept my job for me if I could return within a year. The knee replacement didn't completely help with the back problems I had and I lost my job and I'm now currently unemployed/retired. I was retired before my first knee replacement.

    1 Percocet and 2 fingers of Scotch ..:} No pain :}
    Kidding , just start it slow and STRETCH before hand.
    Hopefully the trainer will start off on low impact stuff to find your tolerances .

    You know your body, don’t over do it, do what you can, if you’ve had sports or work related injuries in the past let the trainer know, some of them can be bit over the top gung-ho
