Calling all Virginians (Tidewater area)

I’m thinking this upcoming weekend would be a good time to get out and stretch the legs of the Tacoma. Anyone have any recommendations for trails, anyone free this weekend and wanna go?

Potts is a possibility, we tossed around the idea of heading south to one of the outer banks islands (Portsmouth Island or Cape Lookout), but those ferry prices I’ve heard can be kinda high.

 

Those are the ones you just camp on the beach and hang out?

 

yep those are the ones. there are some trails from what I have read, but just sand and maybe some water.

 

I looked up the prices and you weren’t lying that’s pretty steep.

so looks like $75 for roundtrip. is that the only gig in town do you know? I was going to look this week and do some calling around.

looks like cape lookout and portsmouth island are going to be about the same price about $80 roundtrip.

 

Ya that’s not horrible but more than I’d spend for a weekend trip. But if you decide to do Potts I’d be down to go play in the rocks.

That’s a long drive and $85 registration. That could be your ferry fee for down south and save 8 hours drive time.

I did a 1k mike weekend three weeks ago it’s a lot of seat time.

 

Well we are gonna go do Potts, we were thinking leaving on Saturday morning and staying for a night out there. Then heading back on Sunday.
