My buddy got a Lotos for under $350. It cuts well. For how long though...

I've had my miller spectrum 625 for a dozen years. I think I paid $1200 for it. The savings in blades, cut off disks or cutting gases has more than paid for it.

I just bought a Lotos myself to pair with my eventually to be delivered plasma table. Seems to be a solid unit. Not really a fan of the torch compared to the Miller I am used to.

For the price point its a decent unit..i have the pilot arc version. I'd still recommend a hypertherm to anyone using it more often though

I had to spring for the pilot arc version also. HF start and electronics do not like each other. Thing melts shit though.

If It works out of the box your good to go.

1 year warranty just where do you need to send it ?

Can you just take it back to where you bought it ??

For the price it is a throw away out of warranty .

Remember moisture in your air destroys consumables.

It definitely doesn't leave as clean of cuts as more expensive brands IMO. But as @Wyoming09 mentioned I view it more as a throw away machine in the long run. If it dies....itll more than likely just be tossed (pending a quick google search for fixes)

Is it ok to use a plasma cutter under the truck?
I need to cut spring perches and shock mounts. Basically I'll be holding the torch sideways.

Just be mindful of where anything hot might drip/fall off in regards to your body position

Ear plugs. Slag in the ear sucks. Also the crook of the elbow, behind the knee....

This. I punctured my ear drum last year with a piece of slag. It’ll leave permanent damage.

You should check out the 40amp Eastwood machine. I’ve owned one for the last two years and it’s worked great for me. It’s the only piece of Chinese welding equipment I own and probably will ever own. I had a miller spectrum 675 for 8 years and currently have a hypertherm on my plasma table. I’ve never once felt like I was at a disadvantage with the Eastwood. The thought of upgrading the Eastwood never crosses my mind. I mostly just use it for rough cuts and removal of old parts but it will cut new material very well.

It really helps to have a fire watcher that pays attention .

\Most times your ok but grease /undercoating likes to catch fire .

If at all possible cut from inside out so the sparks are flying away from under the truck

Ear plugs are a must maybe a face shield after all these years I hate getting burnt .

It does not take much for hot metal to melt through a rubber fuel line just be careful

I've done so much welding and cutting in sandles, I have imbedded metal in the tops of my feet. I trip metal detecting wands at the air port.
