Last time I did it my brother “rode” along.

He walked the whole thing with his GoPro and took video and pics the whole time.

The whole trail is only 10-15 miles long.

In fact walking might be quicker on big weekends. All it takes is one guy to break in the wrong spot and the trail turns into a parking lot.

Especially now that they’ve closed all the by passes and you have to stay within 10ft of trail centerline or risk a hefty ticket

Is there accessible camping nearby the trail? I really don't know anything about it besides it's reputation.

I have 2 spares that are just sitting in the garage. Also have a somewhat bald 33” KM2 on a steelie if you want that

If he passes I am looking for 2 spare 33s to compliment my 4 new 255/80/17 toyos, I carry 2 spares on trips, one under and one on the roof rack. If your 33 km2 is a 285, or a 16", or both - thats fine as i could use it on the rear axle if needed. Right now my spares are 31s. Have a trip planned for after mj's mod day, trying to resolve this pre-trip

Yeah all over. It’s all forest service land so dispersed camping is ok.

Just can’t park your vehicle more than 10 feet from the trail. So a lot of people camp at the bigger spots (buck island, Rubicon springs etc) where they can access their vehicles easily.

In the Pirates of the Rubicon heyday a lot of people would walk to the little sluice area and camp. It was a big party pretty much every weekend.

I’ll double check shortly but I’m pretty sure all 3 are on 16” Toyota steelies

I know some of you are good at woodwork. I am.... not. But I can follow directions :anonymous:

I need to design/build a freestanding surfboard rack to hold 7 boards. When they were in the bedroom, I built an ugly as fuck wall rack. Seriously looked like the wood was the branches of the ugly tree. But it never dropped a board or broke... I need to strand them up in my storage unit. They are taking up to much space laying down.

If anyone wants to draw up some plans, I will gladly compensate you with beer and OTPHJs

I'm by no means a qualified Carpenter but I'd be willing to lend a hand if you DIY.
