    save documents and or run a program that is on the server from a work station. the work stations are connected via the internet to the server so that is why I was thinking internet/speed.

    You could do a cursory test with WinMTR. http://winmtr.net/download-winmtr/ Give it the address of your server and see if there are any drops and/or large latency.

    Problem is gonna be what kind of challenge is it? The kid would probably stand a chance going shot for shot over a few hr span, but get destroyed when it came to 3-4 beers an hour every hour from 9am to 9pm
