    I ran the 35's without regearing when I lived at 7-10k ft elevation (aka no oxygen = no power). It did fine. I say that as it got me from point A to Point B, just slower than normal. Regear to 4.56 if you DD your rig and have a long commute. Otherwise I love 4.88s.

    You have to cut a minimum of 2 inches out of the front. A tiny from the rear (just the inside lip). Cut the cab mount until it looks like it was never there and then beat the pinch weld back (I still have to hammer more).

    My 05 access cab 2.7 5 speed got 18mpg on 35's with the stock 4.10's. doing about 75% highway driving at 50-65mph. it didn't have the power to do over 75. Wheels and tires weighed 105 pounds a piece. It's doable but you want to regear as soon as possible if you do a lot of highway driving. I would also recommend 4.88's

    I'm at the point where I'm just gonna cut and tub the firewall. I also bought the wrong backspace (4.25) I should have gone 4.0

    I got 4.5bs wheels and 35’s, clears the cmc better but not the frame or uca’s. The uca’s are smooth so no big deal. I also limited the steering by adding weld on steering stops from the larger BDS lift kit, might help save a CV from blowing too, my turning circle is still good but I have a regular cab. BDS part # 02469. Also used there rear emergency brake cable bracket part # 02466. Had to find a local BDS dealer to special order. I’d like to try different bs wheels next time but I don’t want to rework the CMC, I turned the 2 body mount bushing bolt holes about 1 inch so I could cut out more material from the cab mount and make the CMC filler plate curved.

    Ya I wouldn't limit my steering, I need all of it lol. But it's just under certain circumstances it rubs on the firewall I think my springs have settled a bit too so I've gotta play around with it

    What about regearing to 4.56? I'm on 33s now but plan for 35s in the future. I do 4 hauls average per year from california to OR/WA, wheel 1-2times per month, and my rig is now bogged with the tent and armor. Should i just shoot for 4.88?

    Hoping I don't necro this thread, but for you guys running 35's, are any of you not running a snorkel? I rather not have a snorkel, but I also don't want the dust and shit clogging up my air filter. If that means not running 35's then I may have to only consider 33's. Thanks in advance.

    A few additions to make me feel cool.
    I am running 33's and am stoked to get 14.5 MPG average on a tank and I drive like a grandma. Kind of a slutty crack whore of a grandma but one all the same!

    What does running 35s have to do with a snorkel?

    I have no idea, I just read in the 35's without body lift thread that if you run 35's you've got to pretty much remove the wheel liner, which then means the air intake is exposed to the tires kicking up all kinds of stuff. I'm asking you guys with the 2.7L that have gone to 35's. If you can leave the wheel liner in, then I would guess you don't need a snorkel? Edumacate me!

    Did not know this, I have 35s with a snorkel and my fender liners still there, but I’m also lifted 6 inches

    A thing or two...
    @pheerles

    On a truck lifted the typical 3" or less, you have to cut 2 inches out of the fender behind the flare and the flare itself to clear the tire when it's stuffed. The liner is attached to the flare, so there is nowhere for it to attch anymore when you cut it. That is why you lose the liner when running 35s.

    If you don't want to run a typical snorkel, you could run a hidden snorkel. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/hidden-snorkel-in-4-cyl.485390/
