Be persistant. Its all about if the dealer wants to be customer friendly or just assholes.
Get a copy of the tsb, make sure it applies to your year, make, model.
Read it carefully, describe the problem exactly the way the problem is stated in the tsb.
Try another dealer. I had to fight tooth and nail to get the rear spring tsb done at the dealer i bought the truck from.
went to another dealer for the transmission tsb and a state inspection, and had no problem what so ever.
Also see if the dealer itself has a customer service manager, not the service manager. I used him to get things going with the service dept.

    good luck

Toyota has shoved their customer service down the toilet hole.

I've read on here of the symptoms of the tranny TSB, but I don't think I have them - '10 DC SB SR5 auto. HOWEVER - I know I need the rear leaf TSB done. Anyone know if it's possible to need one TSB (spring) but not the tranny TSB?

You are experiencing what many others have experienced with Toyota Motors. The overall quality of the vehicles has gone in the tank. I'm sure that they have taken a page from the Big Three American car manufacturers and cut corners in quality to enhance the bottom line (For example, a clutch pedal made out of plastic). Add to that, "Technicians" who can't fix anything unless they can plug in a tool to tell them which part to replace and service departments who could not care less about customer service and you have a manufacturer who doesn't care about the product or the customer.

Like you, I have had nothing but problems and failure at getting Toyota to rectify a problem. This was after I wrote to Mr. Toyoda himself and had a representative from Toyota Executive Offices in Torrance, CA. call me and try to resolve my issue. I am among a growing list of Tacoma owners who are sorry they purchased their Tacomas and who, when it comes time to replace, will purchase something other than a Toyota.

The reality is that Toyota is not the company that it was 10 years ago nor are our Tacomas the rock solid trucks they were 10 years ago.

I hate to be negative but this is how I and others see our current situation.

    I hope this helps.

    Norm.

Yes, the tranny TSB only pertains to certain VINs for the 2010 model year. Not all will have the issue.

I just had my rear spring TSB done with no questions asked. I told them I was hitting my bump stops when I was fully loaded and they ordered the parts right there and then. One week later, they were installed. Bill Wright Toyota here in Bakersfield, CA has always been top notch with customer service. Oh yeah, while it was there, they noticed it was sluggish to start, so they replaced my battery. Under 36,000 / 3 years, no charge.

thats the whole point...you dont check for TSBs. if you have what you think is a problem, take it to toyota, they will research the problem and fix as necessary. if it werent for this site, you would most likely never know about the TSBs.

many people wouldnt know about the spring TSB for instance. now you get new tacoma owners buying trucks and then immediately going to the dealership demanding these TSB fixes for problems they havent even had!

also, if anyone is going to give me a neg rep for "belittling a taco owner", at least be manly enough to leave your name and realize what i bring to this forum before you start spouting off...;)

Obviously theres a problem and i cant get it fixed it was im saying. Dude you swear like its all coming out of your pocket. People have the transmission problem or the spring problem and are unaware of the tsb. They cant just get hit in the face and say, hey we got a solution for that. If theres a way to improve the truck, hell yea why not!

I took mine in for the tranny tab and they told me that my 2010 didn't have any tsb's for the tranny. They did hook it up to the computer and said there was an ECU update and performed that so I got it done in the end.

Don't give up on it though because my truck drives soooo much better now.
