@trekker got my order of LED strip today but I'm not sure its going to work for rock lights. It has a clear rubber cover over it so resealing could be a pain and for adhering to the truck the led will be loose in the cover. Thinking I'll try and find one that will work better.

sounds like mine, just put some silicone in the ends of it after wiring and then I used Gorilla gel glue to glue the strips to the frame/body panels

hmm ok. I'll give it a shot. Was only like $15 so no biggie if it doesnt work out. I may try and use some 3m outdoor tape to adhere it.

That should work too, might get pricey though.

Something that I thought of after the fact... I could have put some clear tape over the led strips and then replaced the tape as it got dirty from wheeling. My lights are a bit dirty now but still pretty bright I guess.

Does the cover not clean up well? or are you just talking about when out wheeling? As for the tape cost I'll have to look at what the right amount will cost and decide. I just wanted something that might remove easier if I need to replace it than glue but still be strong enough to hold it well.

they look pretty stained from the red dirt in Gilmer, but it doesn't seem to affect the light output much at all. I haven't tried scrubbing the led strips though, but I don't want to start scrubbing on them and knock them off of the truck inadvertently.

Just don't leave your doors open to your vehicle or he sees it as an opportunity to hop in your truck for little siesta.

But dude is pretty chill, way more calm than my dog.

I would bring him, but he has never done a big camping trip like this, so I want to start him off small and work him up to Jambo first.
