    Found this JSX-94 on reverb.
Same color as mine and I only paid $200 for it.
Only 600 made. Its semi rare but not really a collectable. Mine plays like shit and sits in the closet.
    Still, a cool guitar nonetheless.

While not a huge purchase....I picked up an MXR 109s six band EQ before work today.

I was looking at getting a vintage boss GE-7 which has outstanding reviews over the reissue. I just couldn't justify the price.

I played the MXR thru 3 different amps at the shop.
60 watt tube Blackstar, the Id stereo 100 blackstar and some hardwired, boutique $2500, blonde 40 watt that I never heard of and can't remember the name.

The sound was amazing! and nite and day. What sounded flat and mid scooped turned into a brilliantly clear, very defined sound. I was amazed.

Hopefully, this will motivate me more to play on the peavey XXL half stack that's sat untouched in my room for years.

Can't wait to get home and try it out.

    It's a 2006 model.
1 owner. He's my guitar guy at the local shop.
Gigged a couple times and he uses it for recording in his studio.

Re tubed and biased with genuine mesa tubes 2 yrs ago.
Clean never abused. Original documentation with it and sales reciept.

3-channel Recto's aren't highly sought after. but those slant/ straight cabs are awesome. i've been looking for a Mark series with the EVM12L/ Celestion split. i've seen the cabs go for about 500$ here in CA and that head for about 900$-1000$

    so all-in-all, that's a good deal for half-stack.

Narrowed it down to two guitars, one amp and two pedals. all reissue stuff so price was surprisingly reasonable after finding the right guitar

So, I'm not to familiar with them. The dual rectifiers are 3 channel? what are the triple rectifiers?

Clearly this isn't something I need or want. I have my peavey XXL half stack but it just sits in the corner untouched.
The guy is really kinda down on his luck and I had some extra tax money left over. I figured I would help him out and if I didn't like the amp, I could atleast make my $1200 back.

If it wasn't a 1 owner with all the paperwork and footswitch, I prob woulda passed. Never had a good tube amp before. But again, I don't play out anymore.

Edit: yea, that's what I'm seeing older heads go for on reverb. About $900-$1000.
My Peavey 4x12 is slant so maybe I could toss it on the flat cabinet and use the rec head.

Or....use my boss multieffects pedal and run a left and right out to both heads and cabs and get some lush stereo.

Dual and Triple refer to the amount of rectifier tubes/ power. Duals are 100w and Triples are 150w. they're good amps. i had one for a while but the 2-channel models have more "mojo", so to speak.

mine's an old Trem-O-Verb, which was the Cadillac of Rectifiers in the 90s.

I honestly don't know where to start with this amp.
Alot of time I get in rutts, like everyone does. I just stop playing with no motivation.

I'm totally blow away by the sounds of this tube amp, even at lower volumes. It's like I've been living in the dark for 50 yrs. I honestly can't even explain it.

It takes my old ass Boss ME-33 very, very well.
I'm getting megadeth, metallic, slayer like tones just from what's recommended in the users manual.

I can't say how SUPER, SUPER, SUPER X infinity how happy I am with this amp.

I've got a 150w triple rec with the attenuator(?) switch for each channel so I can bring it down to 50w. Since I got the amp it's never seen 150w even for gigging. 50w blows me away and the tones from the orange and red channels are killer. With just a simple tube screamer and a noise suppressor you can get so many different tones out of it. It lacks in the clean tone for me, I have an orange at home for that when I want it but for high gain you almost can't beat the Mesa's!

I've been looking at hot plates and attenuators on reverb. I can get decently loud here at the house but I was told you really need to cook these 6L6 tubes to get decent sound.
They are pretty pricey. I wish I had that 50 watt switch on mine. I don't want to pull any of tubes to get the sound I want.

I know man. I miss my 50 watt JCM 2000. Had to get a more metal tone so sold it and bought the triple rec. I don't need 6 power tubes glowing all the time! Just need two. But if you do that then you pull the tubes and have to re-bias and use a lower impedance setting (usually.) At home I've got the Orange Mini Terror that has an attenuator for 7 watts and 15 watts. I've used it in another band that plays rock n roll and it gets PLENTY loud for 15 watts! Love the thing. It's awesome.

I don't want to get into the whole pedal buying craze. Albeit old...my Boss ME-33 multi effects still works crazy good. I did buy an MXR 5 band eq last week.
And I just ordered a Maxon OD808 overdrive to help push the mesa orange and red ch a bit.

I hope it ends with these 3 pedals.

The screamer is pretty much essential. It helps you dial in that tone so much better. You'll like it.
