What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Yikes thats pricey!

 

Here's a dorky Toyota thing I did a long time ago. Picked this up off a 20R in an old 2WD pickup in the junkyard. Turns out the threads and oring haven't changed in like 40 years.

 

This guy's is my favorite. His kitchen is a bit much for me but I like the idea of being able to remove a drawer for things like snowboards to fit nicely.

 

Oh yea I love that guys platform, that's what gave me the idea to do the angled panels on the sides for switches and outlets, really clean build

 

Frame not bent and haven't recovered from front. Ill try again this week when i get patience back

This is what my supercharger AFR looks like under 10 pounds of boost and runs perfectly.
Just had it check yesterday, running About 10.5-11.5 with full throttle

 

Would there be any benefit in going from 4.30 to 4.88s on 33s?

How do you stay away from all the electrical stuff if you are using a pressure washer? Lol. Seems like that would be impossible.

 

electrical system on these trucks in the engine bay are pretty water resistant. just try not to directly spray them.

I put a 2017 Tacoma steering wheel in my 99. Bolted right up.

 

I usually put a plastic grocery bag over the fuse box and battery so I don't have to worry quite so much...but either way don't hit anything directly with high pressure water; you don't want water finding it's way into something it shouldn't be in. I usually leave the hose on the 'mist' setting and just let it rain over the engine bay and wash off the dirt and degreaser (if I'm using any). Do this a couple times and it does a decent job, if you really want that detailed engine look you have to go at it with your hands and it takes a long time. I never bother with that since it's just going to get dirty again in a week or so anyway.

This is when I first got my truck about 2 years ago now, 24k miles on her then and the dealership had detailed it. She'll never be this pretty again...

Manual

 

yeah your 4lo would be really low. You'd gain a lot of torque. With how heavy the truck is you might like it. Offroad you'd love it. On the highway the rpms will be a bit high but the 5vz doesn't care. 4.88s and the manual are almost the same as my 5.29s and 35s. I love it.
