anyone with a 3rd gen fighting to get the rear window bar into it's notches? i feel like i might have installed the bedrails a little too far apart.

The same shit everyone else has.
I finally picked up a fiberglass shell and its time to part ways with my Bestop after 3+ years of use. What seems to be the current going market rate on a used 2nd gen long bed Bestop? I see prices all over the place and want to list it for a fair price...

    /shameless plug

I ran my Bestop over winter for the first time this past winter. No issues with it. I just kept the windows closed in below freezing temps.

How do you mean? The rear bar is adjustable for width.

i don't have nearly as much clearance for the snap on either side. i have to bend it in a little to fit.

The 1st, 2nd & 3rd gen are all the same softopper, just a different back window, no?

That's not a SofTopper. Or at least it's nothing like my SofTopper.

From the research I've done, the 3rd gen topper is shorter overall due to the differences in height from cab roof to bedrails between both generations.
If you look at previous pictures posted such as this one from @Irongrave , his 2nd gen topper is just a bit higher than my 3rd gen in relation to the cab.

I'm not exactly sure, but I also believe1st gens have a slightly narrower bed. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong though.

Minor differences that are only noticeable if you pay close attention. Most people wouldn't notice TBH...

That's the attachment point for the rear bar on a 3rd gen topper. Mine is also that way. Yet another difference.

pulled direct from the SofTopper website. i think there was a design change for the 3rd gen since it has a curve to the tailgate as opposed to a straight 1st/ 2nd gen.

That doesn't look right. The rear of it is taller than the front! When I was ordering mine, I noticed the same part number for all 3 gens, which was also the same as a Chevy Colorado, Ford ranger & all other short bed mid-sized trucks. I believe they only make a handful of different sizes & they happen to fit a bunch of different trucks.

I didn't realize the rear window also had different rail brackets for the window.
