TRD Off Road Beadlock Style wheels

So I'm hoping someone can help me look at installing a set of the Beadlock style wheels (PTR18-35090) on a 2018 off road.

Do I need to purchase all of these:

4 - 42607-06030 sensors
4 – 04423-OE010 sensor fit kit

Another question I have is does the ring around the edge contact curbs, I'm in the bad habit of not worrying about that when my current stock wheels on my 2013.

Appreciate any feedback people who've put these on have.

 

The ring does not stick out beyond the outer wall of the tire so it does not hit the curb, I'm running 265/75/16 KO2s. You do need to purchase the longer lug nuts and I was able to reuse my TPMS from my OEM OffRoad so no need to buy new ones. If memory serves me right these wheels have an 11 MM offset so they'll widen the track by roughly 0.86 inches.

 

Have you ordered the wheels yet? I did last week, and they were delivered today. No rings or center caps were in the boxes. The dealer (out of state) checked some others that he was shipping today, and the rings and center caps weren't packed with those wheels either. He agrees that PTR18-35090 includes both the rings and caps, but needs to figure out what happened.

So, if you're ordering the wheels, be aware of this (potential) issue.

That’s a great price, I paid $227.86 per wheel but I got free shipping so it may be a wash.

 

Dealer called this morning after speaking with a Toyota rep. They believe there’s an issue nationwide with these wheels not being packaged with the rings, hardware, and center caps. Supposedly, their supplier has somehow dropped the ball. The individual components are all available , and they are going to order them for me at N/C, but be aware that somewhere around 500 sets of wheels may be affected.

 

Thanks for the heads up on this. I ordered my set yesterday for a truck I don't have yet, so I'll make sure to check them out for all the parts when the arrive.

 

Are these actual beadlock wheel of just cosmetic? I thought the whole point of beadlocks was being able to run giant tires and air them down still, so if you had properly sized tires I don’t see how you could ever curb them:

 

The Toyota wheels are fake beadlock, strictly for looks.

 

Captain Tikihut that's the same tire size I'd like to put on. Do you have a lift or stock and have you had any rubbing problems?

 

Not the quoted member but I’ve had those wheels with that size on two trucks.

You’ll hit the flaps on turns if you are at just the right angle like turning into and reversing out of driveways.

Hardly anything to worry about.

 

Thanks for the info. Was it the flap in front of the front tire or the main behind? Kind of disappointed to hear they will rub at all, now I'll have top decide if I should go with 265/75R16 or stock size.

I'm with you. I waited to upsize my tires on my current 2013 until my original tires wore out. Couldn't believe how much better I like the slightly larger tires and have no rubbing so far. Didn't want to wait on the 2018 I'm waiting for, but don't really want to deal with rubbing either.

 

I also have 265/75/16s. No flaps, no rubbing. I went Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo 3.

 

No rubbing, no lift but I did swap out the stock OEM Bilstein shocks for the Fox from the Pro.

 

$227.86 with free shipping is the best I've seen. Is that black? I've noticed black tends to be a tad higher. Mind me ask your source? I'm hoping to order some eventually.

OMF Performance makes rock rings that can be bolted to the faux beadlock part. They are plastic and designed to protect the lip from offroad damage. Not completely useless.
