Yes the little lip that covers the bumper. On the sport models, they’re painted to match the factory color, however I swapped it with an OR matte black bumper.

I don't know if you guys are just going for a different mod setup or something but my 2018 OR swapped to the Pro Grille with no need for the longer cable, my cable is almost too long I had to zip tie it a few places.

@JHsieh_3 ohhhh i see. I’ve never even noticed it but it’s night and day, much more aggressive look specially combined with the PRO grille. Easy install on the valance number?

    Try a 6mm socket.

I actually found a guy who said he has one for sale in another thread so I messaged him for it haha. I didn't see anyone selling it on the buy/sell forum in my area, so I was about to either plastidip or wrap it, but I got lucky!

@JHsieh_3 nice! I’ve been looking online and I’ve found a couple for about 120 but they’re slightly damaged... i think i might just wrap it, I’ll probably save some money doing it that way and it should still last a while, thanks for the info bud!

Just ordered the grille and garnish, as well as some 3M paint protection film. Gotta cover that up so the wife doesn't make the simple green mistake. Figure I can make a template and cut out 5-10 to stick in the glove box when they get funky.

So I have read all this 225 times. I have a Chinese grill inbound. Does the 53141-35060 factory garnish match the Color of the Chinese Grill ? And what about putting a thin piece of lexan in front of the sensor and behind the Chinese garnish. I think that would protect the TSS. If I could just get the correct Toy grill this would go a bunch smoother. Any pics of the China Grill and 53141 - 35060 would help. Thanks. Great thread

Can confirm. Stock cable is fine, however you will notice the wiring when looking at the grill head on. In the stock grill, the wiring was kind of tucked behind the emblem.

    You're overthinking it.

The factory garnish matches my chinese grille. not all of the chinese ones are the same. Where did you buy yours from? Do you have a link?

Lexan in front of the sensor behind the chinese garnish may work to achieve the same protection but I think part of the problem is that the existing garnish piece (not the TSS-sensor one) can interfere with the operation of the sensor. So lexan or not, you may have other issues by NOT using the proper radar sensor garnish. Some have reported no issues.

Personally, it'd be worth more to me to save the time of cutting and retrofitting a piece of lexan in there versus just buying the $50 garnish. If you're able to get it working and save the $50 on the garnish, that's great! But I think you're on your own as I've only heard of one other person who made their own garnish.

The biggest thing to look out for is that the chinese grill that you bought should have slots at the bottom to accept the OEM garnish piece. Some of them just have holes at the bottom where they're screwed or melted on. Those will NOT fit the OEM garnish piece. Again, a link to what you bought should confirm.

I have a pic somewhere of my chinese grille and OEM garnish but it's on my phone. Maybe I'll upload later! It works, and it looks good.

Talked to my buddy at the dealership today and they ordered me a grill, garnish, cable, and clips. They did tell me that the sensor in the TRD Pro has a different part number from the one in the Offroad. Anyone have any idea what the difference is in the modules(TSS-P)?

Here's the item number. 302693428094 . I already ordered the factory garnish. I just want it all to match color wise. If not I think I have the 35180 grill from someone . I'll just Craigslist the Chinese grill if I need to. And thanks Tacoma1818. Love to see the pic.

Very Nice. Exactly what I wanted to see. I'll hold off on the factory grill that a lot more. I'm sure the one that's coming will be fine. And Thanks. I'll post a pic this weekend after my install.

The reflection of the garnish in that particular pic makes it look pretty bad (and makes it stand out a lot). From far away, or not at that kind of angle, the garnish looks fine. Matches the knockoff grille perfectly.

Here’s a further away shot. This is from when they threw down more stone in the parking lot of the local nano-brew (which is in the back of a storage unit, speakeasy style). Of course the regulars are prepared for the added terrain hahahahaha
