I check the AMS weekly to see if job open anywhere.. Currently Im trying to get to Peterson CO, Lackland, TX, Elmendorf AK, Hickam Hawaii, Aviano Italy. NICE...We gots our own thread.

Been in for just over 5 years now. 4 of those wonderful years were spent in a little place called Cannon AFB. Not a bad base but there is nothing there.

Currently at Elmendorf AFB. It is nice up here but it won't stop raining. Loving Alaska though. Why bigger and way more stuff than I am used to.

Hey AF AD here, Shady J. deployed 10 times in 20 years and I think I may do one more. I was Red horse for 10 years and CE now, heavy equipment operator. I wanted to retire but its hard popping Uncle sams titty out of my mouth, LOL, as usual for the military, anytime one of you guys is in town look me up and we will tip a few. I still cant recite the creed! Bad sarge, Bad sarge!

I did 11 years active duty. First assignment was Eglin AFB (82-84). I worked at the High Explosive Research and Development Facility. I made experimental explosives as an airman! What a kickass party place. Next they sent me to Incirlik AB, Turkey (84-85). For being a stinky ass toilet of a place it sure was fun. But damn we were busy building bombs (It was the Cold War, ya know). Next was Moody Airplane Patch (85-91). Again Cold war preparations. We were a Bare Base Deployable unit, the other two squadrons were not. While at Moody, I put in a dream sheet. I put down Guam, Hawaii, Southern California and Florida. But they sent me to Misawa AB, Japan (91-91). That is where I made my decision to get out. I hate cold weather and they sent me there. Plus I just got divorced and at the time my ex had custody of the kids.
I returned to my home in Florida and worked as a lawn technician and pest contol technician for the two years that I was out. 6 days a week and 13 hour days. It was time to join the Air Guard. I joined as a part-timer and when Jacksonville was slated for F-15s they added three full time jobs to the missile area. And I got hired. That was one of the best days in my life. I had always wanted to work for the FANG and after working that pest control job I was the happiest man on earth.
So now I'm in the Missile Maintenance Shop and am counting down the years that I have left before retirement-10. Yep ten more years. We have an ORI in May and then smooth sailing for awhile.
