What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I wish I had 5.29s with my 33s.

 

I'm glad I have 4.88's. Manual though, which I'm also glad for.

 

yeah with the auto and your heavy rig, I can understand that.

I love life with 5.29s, 35s, and a SC. So fun to drive.

 

yeah I have no idea how they got it that way, looking at it now there's no way it could be made that clean again. My power steering reservoir is always seeping but never loses any fluid according to the dipstick, which is weird. But it makes a mess around that area.

 

The cheap stuff from walmart lol. What I use for everything (besides motor oil because quaker state is sometimes cheaper lol)

I have 5:29 AT I do like the torque but with how much highway I drive. Gas just kills me. At 75-80 mph I'm at around 2750 rpm. I have to be at like 50 to stay near 2000K. Which sucks. I may go back to 5:88. Find me a old t100 rear third with a 4.90

 

yeah you'd have lots of torque back.

I find at 70mph which is around 3k is good.

 

You can pay an annual preferred customer fee and get the same pricing (or close) as a dealer would. I’ve been doing it for a year and saved some coin. Great products.

Did anyone ever find out anything about this? I’m getting ready to order a set of lower ball joints from Camelback, but wanted to make sure there isn’t a problem with them first.

 

Battery is locked down. I would hate to have the battery fly into the fan.

 

Done that before. @m3bassman found my battery trying to weld itself to the power steering high pressure line when we were in Death Valley

There’s a supercharger waiting for me down the road at some point, and I was curious how you were liking it with your 35/5.29 combo. Seems like it would be right in the RPM sweet spot for the SC. Mountain passes would be no big deal, I would think.

 

I know I don't have the requisite gearing or tire size, but I am here to say that from 3250 or so up to redline the supercharger and engine just freaking pull along

 

yeah anything about 3k and it'll pull all day. I can't wait to make mine run smoother though. Still pulling a bit too much timing and needs more fuel.

 

On 35’s now, no complaints anymore. back with those 33s though highway speeds were not a good time hanging it at 3500 at 70.

Now im just adding the supercharger to regain some lost ponies
