A little research, and I seem to be correct.

I have a 2010 DC TRD Sport and noticed from day 1 that it had a slight vibration at hwy speeds on the drive home. I asked the dealer if they were all like it and he let me test drive another one and sure enough they are all like it from new. Annoying really when on the hwy. I told the dealer I'll live with it if I had too but if this cures it, I'll be freaking smilin!
I will try this when I get home in a couple of weeks.
So I guess it makes the driveshaft staighter from the Tcase to the rear diff through the Carrier bearing, hey? That's my guess! When I do it I'll tie a string from end to end and see what the difference is...
    Good find if it works....

let me tell you i was amazed at the results. it is sooo much smoother now! all from a 1/4 inch worth of washers:)

Is this only for trucks with lifts?

For what its worth, I will try this sooner rather than later. For the record though, I had a 2" spacer in the front and the TSB done for the rear. With this set-up, I was getting the "BUMP" as if someone had tapped my truck from behind when stopped at a light. Well, I made the upgrade to Bilsteins 5100's all the way around and still had the BUMP. The front bilsteins were set at the highest setting (2.5). Just recently, I added a leaf to the rear and the BUMP went away! HURRAY!!! Since then, I have now been experiencing the same vibrations you all have said. Mine have been progressively getting worse and more noticeable at different speeds. It real obvious when approaching an incline, never a decline. I'm noticing these vibrations at low speeds, then at 27 MPH, roughly again at 47 and then 57. I say all this to see if there is some sort of consistency in what people are feeling.
    Lifted rear - Vibrations?
    Lifted front - Bumps?
I wanted to also make sure this small plate on the bottom is what I need to do to see if this works for the set-up I have.

try it out man,,,,,1/4 inch spacer has worked for lots of folks...because it drops the barrier bearing a tad......letting the driveshaft get a better angle.

Are these speeds lining up pretty closely with your shift points? It sounds like the more torque your using the more your vibration. When my first gen did that is was a bad U-joint. Might be worth the 5 minutes to crawl under your truck and yank on the U-joints. See if any of them feel loose. Though, unless you've been wheeling I can't really see a U-joint going out that fast.

So, had a 2" AAL and Billy 5100's installed, noticed the vibration the next day...went and installed 1/2" worth of washers and #10-1.25 x 50mm bolts...low and behold I noticed while doing this, that the damn gas tank metal trim was bent back at a 90 deg angle rubbing on my shaft (how cool is that to write!) so shit, I dont know which one was the issue, but...there both resolved/installed, and I dont vibe!

you problem...especially if its in the driveline......vibes when you take off or slow down could have to do with the torque converter or driveshaft.

Also I thought that the issue was with the front diff not the drive shaft?

The shaking stops after 13 seconds, but left the video running to show that my speeds were increasing and that the shaking did stop. Bilsteins in the front (2.5) and on the rear. Back has tsb and aal. That's it.

I can't say I've tried the spacer to lower the drive shaft yet. Over the last 2 weeks now, the vibrations have progressively gotten worse. I took a video from inside the truck at a take off from a light.
Details: slow take off, between 25 & 40 mph on flat streets or slight uphill. The shifting has been hard, especially the downshifts (hard knock). I'm seriously concerned about it now.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8qR-J7RLJU

For now after searching all the treads again, I seen the following potential problems...
    1) Torque converter
    2) Zerks that need greasing
    3) Unbalanced driveshaft (spacer drop)
    4) Bad rear differential
    5) Carrier bearings
    6) Bad U-Joints
    7) ?

Anyone else have something to add?

slight vibration at 50-55 - very slight, went to lowes and baught 5 feet of 1" wide 1/4 thick alu, cut two 1.35" lengths, drilled 3/8 inch holes and then hit them with a coat of rustoleium engine enamel high temp high gloss paint - letting it dry, and will mount and post back.:D

total build time..ten minutes tops. looks like it'll mount in two minutes - if this works i'll be one happy dude.

note to self - 3/8 hole too small, went two sizes bigger, 13/32" - or you could go 7/16 if you didn't have 13/32. repainted, will mount in an hour.

    then to test drive!

1/4 inch spacers installed, there is still a very slight vibration, but it could easily be the new tires installed, plus the new lift, with the front and rear of the truck being much stiffer it could also just be more road "noise" felt in the truck because of how much firmer the suspension is not to mention the new tires, so all in all I'm not going to go crazy - very happy with the way it came out. The spacer installed made the driveshaft look like it was a straight b-line to the rear axle instead of the slight bend that was there after the lift.

do you think just stacking washers to get 1/4" and placing em in between or just getting a 1/4" washer with a 3/8" diameter inset hole will work?
