For those with the TRD Beadlocks, did you have them balanced with or without the ring mounted on the wheel?

I have a set and always had them balanced with the ring on.

o_O why would you take the ring off. They are Faux beadlocks.

If your taking the ring off because you like the way it looks w/o the ring the balance after the ring is off.

Otherwise do as Toyota intended and leave the ring on and pretend it can't even come off.

I assume it is because they are taking off the ring to mount the tires. This is how the instruction say to do it. Then the ring should be reinstalled before balancing.

    Really?

Hmm .. never seen them take off the ring when I put new tires on mine.
The wheels came stock on my truck so no instructions were provided with them.

    Lol
How can you balance a tire/wheels and then add more weight after balancing.

A lot of things Toyota say are ass backwards.

I'll stick to balancing all at same time for a 0'ed out tire and wheel.
Have not had it a problem with 3 sets of tires and 120,000 miles.
Also whats that crap about white letters "must" face out?!?:rofl:
It's just like Ace Ventura when the Dan Marino puts laces backwards on the football!

    Laces out Dan!
What if your tire have no white lettering because its extra? Lol
Edit: why did my truck not come with these same instructions?
    But whatevers......

Toyota Standard .. someone made the decision so thats the policy/procedure that all TOYOTA dealerships must do.

Doesn't mean the end user has to follow it or that it even makes sense to do 99% of the time.
The probably say you need to remove the ring purely so it doesn't get scratched when installing the tire.
My rings have so many scratches on them from wheeling I would never notice a new one.

The tire can definitely be mounted w/o removing the ring.

It doesn’t say balance before installing the rings, it says mount the tires before installing them.

    They’re not my instructions, they’re Toyota’s! I also wasn’t the one that posted them....

Had my new ones recently installed and tire shop told me since the ring is an evenly distributed weight it would make no difference when to balance and installed ring after balance. I was a little sceptical at first but I have had it up to 80mph without the slightest shimmy. Very happy with the ride quality of these wheels!
