Just to mix things up, I replaced just the muffler with a Magnaflow in my Tundra and loved it! It took a little while to get the break in sounding good (the longer you have it, the better it sounds), and I've really enjoyed the low end growl, I'm worried that with a V6 instead of a V8, we'll be losing some of this "grunt" in the exhaust. Anyways, just my thoughts on the Magnaflow, which I loved!

Its amazing how a thread on suspension can turn to exhaust systems...... Does anyone else have any input on what a 2 in lift in front and a aal in the rear would look like? Again my concern is if 2.5 in of lift will cause problems or not.

I think the thread got a little off tangent sorry. Have you considered ride quality? An AAL will stiffen the rear while a block will not change ride quality, AAL will also offer you a little better hauling capacity/performance. These are just a few things to consider. The one thing that I like about adjustable coilover set-ups in the front is that they allow you to fine tune your suspension. I have adjusted mine a few times after it settled. Initially I installed a 1.75" Daystar front spacer and was not happy with the ride quality so I swapped it out for 5100 Bilsteins, seeking a little more adjust ability and hoping to correct my taco lean I finally picked up the coilover sleeves and new springs. Moral of the story - I should have just bought the adjustable from the beginning, it would have saved me a lot of time and money. Remember you get what you pay for....

    yance,

Good Morning! Hijacking threads happen a lot around forums, it's really just another way to promote a discussion, apologies if you feel like we're not answering your question but if you read the entire thread, you'll find some of your answers. There are many pics for you to see what your truck will look like in this forum (and others too) and no one has spoken up and said you'll have problems with your lift and if you review other lift threads you'll find the same feedback.

There's some good info in my post, where I'm looking at 1.75" in the front, some good feedback and pics here -

My problem is what I have read on other forums says that if you lift over 2.5 inches and at 2.5 inches you can encounter problems of twitchyness running down the highway, so you need UCA's to correct the caster adjustments. One forum says that if you add a diff drop it will only create more problems, if you add a carrier bearing drop that it can cause problems as well. Another thread goes off on how lifts over 2.5 inches cause ball joint problems meaning premature wear. I guess what I am getting at is I want to make sure that if a spacer lift at 2.5 in front will be fine or should I just spend the money and do it all high buck from the get go or will 2inches of lift in front be fine?

Just trying to hear the truth vs listening to people just trying to sell products (which seems to have been happening on some other forums).

Ride quality w/ an aal leaf is not a major concern of mine. I want it to ride like a truck. Spacer lifts dont bother me either, had them on other trucks and jeeps. But I dont want to be greedy and go to big and cause other headaches. I have seen that happen on other vehicles. I understand a spacer lift is a low budget way of lifting and there are better ways. Any ways, thanks for any input so far and any continued input!

The question I still have is, can caster be adjusted to proper spec w/ the 2.5 lift or are the only problems seen with a 3inch lift?

Are UCAs needed with a 2.5" lift, NO Are they needed with a 3" lift, NO. They are "recommended" with the 3" lift however there are many guys who run a 3" lift and don't have them, at the same time there are also many that do...I would recommend lifting your truck and then see how it feels. If you feel a little loose on the highway then you can pick up UCAs. You truck has eccentric rings in the bottom of the lower control arms that will allow the alignment tech some adjustment for camber and caster. The tech are my dealer said that the trucks are adjustable for caster with this ring. Does this help answer your question?

Here is another small lift option:
