    Thanks
I just made sure I was working on a level surface then used a string and bubble level to level the base then flipped it over and hand cut the top by using several 2'level and a thin kerf dovetail saw

Very nice. I am a big fan of natural materials in their natural state.

Did you do anything to reinforce the driftwood structurally?

It’s probably around 400 lbs all said and done. The whole thing comes apart if you pull 8 pins. 4 1/4” steel hitch pins hold the top top the tenons (comes in handy if you have to re level the table after a move, (just drill new holes) and 4 1” walnut dowels hold the trestle to the legs. Moving the top is still a 2-3 person job lol.

Nice! Are you concerned about those cracks on the top spreading at all? They look like prime contenders for some bow-tie inlay.

On the bottom of the table, where it mounts to the legs has been routed down down to 1” thick. And a 2” thick piece of black walnut is permanently dowled into the table. There are a couple blind dowels on the outboard side of the crack. It’s been stable for about 2 years now. But if it gets concerning i’ll Butterfly them

Ironically I read this yesterday, and then last night took a slice off the tip of my thumb on my miter saw. Saw safety has a whole new meaning to me.
