I mean I won't say no, but I think I got super lucky with how my engine and rad perform. Never got over 194 after doing lots of pulls the the other day in 90 degree heat

    Welcome!

Some of get together every now and then. Only a handful of us active on here. Most are towards the west side though. There was a 4runner guy in Cheyenne who went out a lot with a local club. Can't remember his screen name though hasn't been on in a while..

Hola, I'm probably one of your closest neighbors, I'm actually over in Nebraska, but only an hour from cheyoming. I try to go up to the snowies a couple times per year.

I’m a close neighbor to. All you have to do is go 300 miles up I-25, then another 50 on I-90, then 6 miles on Hwy-14 and you’re at my place. That’s neighbors by Wyoming standards.

Thanks, I just emailed them this:

    "To whom it may concern,
Do you have any plans to make these for the 2nd Gen Tacoma, 3rd Gen T4R, or FJ Cruiser? I'm liking what I'm seeing for the older Toyotas and definitely see a huge market for these in this other chassis, especially us FJ folks who spare no expense for strength and functionality of our trucks. Also, the 3rd Gen Tacoma owners are spending record amounts of money on accessories for their trucks.

Some of us have no intentions of welding gussets to our existing pressure cast knuckles, as these are two different types of steel, and really want a better solution, such as your Fully Fabricated Toyota Spindles. Thanks in advance.

Personally, I'd rather have greasable high travel ball joints as they are easier to maintain than Uniballs, and the likelyhood of finding a replacement at your local parts store or (parts store near BFE), should you have a failure. But to each his own, I think this is a good idea compared to weld gussets, as I've seen 2 failures now. Just wish they had more cataloging for Toyotas.

Pretty certain that those are for 2nd gens too man..and 3rd gens. They make fabbed spindles for them with the XLT kit. https://www.solomotorsports.com/sho...it-2nd-gen-tacoma-4th-gen-4runner-fj-cruiser/

Also 2nd gen spindles are forged :)

they do a lot for toyota's. Some of its just not on their site.

Any of the LBJs that are greasable(moog) aren't as nice as OEM which aren't greasable. The OEM ones last much longer..generally.

the Uniballs won't last long for sure. But the main fail point on the full fabbed spindle is still the 4 little bolts holding the LBJ on even with Solo's design. That will shear before the uniball..unless the uniball is bad and you don't swap them out in time. Which will likely be a yearly thing.

I changed my email before sending that. I was more interested in knuckle/spindles that are not for long travel but for stock geometry. I thought I worded that wrong and went back and edited it.

There are a lot of claims that the Toyota knuckles are forged but if you look at them closely and even cut into them, they really do appear to be pressure cast and not forged, despite what many many companies who build knuckle gussets claim. I'd like to see the FED DOT's take on it. Even if they are forged, welding mild steel to them will take the temper out them if not fabricated correctly. There are a lot of backyard welders these days that I'm pretty sure are not pre-heating their knuckles before welding to them. I've seen 2 failures in 2 years and both are at the top under the ball joint, right above the weld. One was cracked and the other was bent but the weld didn't break.

Ah, that i don't know. Be cool if they did.

yeah most don't pre heat. I welded Marc's on. So far so good..shit that was like..3 years ago.

I'm guilty of it myself. I've done a few and never gave it much thought until I saw the breakage and started doing some research on metallurgy and fusing different metals. I always knew cast and steel was a no-no. None of mine have broken but I never preheated with anything other than a rosebud either, so I'm hoping they'll hold up. I'm not in the mood for any insurance claims. (Serious)

    yeah that wouldn't be fun.

We preheated Marcs as well. But who knows if it was the "right way".

sucks as the stock spindles aren't very strong to begin with..

I snapped a spindle on an 80s caddy and welded a bolt in between the two broken pieces. I then proceeded to get hit on that wheel again and bent the frame with that spindle... They aren't that weak if you mix types of steel. Just my experience.

...but you can't say that type of welded joint would be 'strong' either. When they fail makes a huge difference in how much damage and the nature of that damage. There are reasons that certified weld joints are required. Just saying....

No. Valve cover gaskets are leaking. Not seeping. Leaking. Found that when we started flushing the tranny fluid. Tore the whole intake off again to re torque the bolts.

Finished flushing the tranny. Started making sure the coolant was good and was going to start the bumper. But oil is still leaking from my valve covers.

The one fucking part I didn't get an oem part for...
