What if I mail you one of these brackets to try out?

Seems that it might need this notched piece to slide into the bakflip railing.

Not sure where you are but if you want a couple rails, I got extras. From a Fiber Max for 2015 DCSB Sport.
First set, one end bracket bent, other one the machining was off and the one bracket was not de burred and on the replacement set the same side was bad again, when the third set came, I gave up, drilled out the pop rivet, deburred the hole, put in a larger rivet and it worked fine. It's been sold and the rails are leaning in my shed if you want them.

Bakflip f1 here on 2012 tacoma. I need to figure how to access rails too. Thinking of cutting a 4 holes on the backflip rail to allow kbvoodoo brackets to attach. Thoughts?

    Hey Newtaco76

I just modified the 2016+brackets to fit my Gen2.

I found a 2016 Bakflip Fibremax and modified the clamp to fit my Gen2 and use the bed rails. It was as simple as drilling new holes just above the 90 degree bend. This is required as the 2016+ bed is almost an inch taller than our Gen2’s due to larger top caps on the side rails.

Gotcha. I've got the bakflip F1 on a 2012 Tacoma. Going to see if I can dremel some gaps to allow the voodoo brackets to fit.

I know the original discussion was about gen 3 rails, but I'm interested in these last few posts. I just bought an F1 for my 2015 gen 2 and was very disappointed to find out it used the factory rails. There has to be a reasonable way to make this work even if it means buying a new set of factory rails.

I do not know if the 2005-2016 F1 rail uses the same die as the 2016+ Fibremax rails?? But if it has the same mounting slot on the inside of the rails the 2016+ clamps should work for you with some minor modifications. I know there are a few different styles of rails used for the Tacoma’s over the years as Bak has modified their designs.

    The YouTube video

“How to install Bakflip Tonneau cover at Autocustoms.com”

Show the guy sliding in the new style clamps at the 3:24 mark. Those clamps are the ones I drilled new holes just above the 90 degree bend to fit my Gen2 and use the factory bedrails in the lower mounting holes. So maybe check If your rails look like the same profile as the ones pictured here in the video.

Ok...I ordered your original brackets. Still have to see if they line up for my bakflip f1.
