Bourbon is one of my interest rather than just a drink to me

And I don't drink to get drunk

Spent my early childhood years there after my parents divorced. I can still remember the smell of whiskey mash on warm summer evenings and the sound of the 6 pm fire station siren. Fell asleep many nights to the distant booms of Ft. Knox "practicing" as my grandmother put it.

I just mean that I don't pay for it. My sister usually gets me a bottle of good stuff every birthday or Christmas every year. I sip on it all year, I drink other stuff rest of the time

I heard that too but our rattling house windows say otherwise.

Yep....always rattled my grandma's windows too. Plus the windows were open 24/7 back then. No A/C in that old house. So I would hear the distance thud followed by the windows.

I guess much hasn't changed in 45 years after all

Imagine the biggest, heaviest door you have ever seen, being slammed as hard as it could be slammed. That's a typical large bore howitzer firing.... The concussion/shock wave is more potent than the shell itself when it detonates. Most howitzer live rounds are air burst. They make a boom, but not as loud as firing projectile from the gun tube. The 120mm smooth bores (main gun on Abrams tanks) are just as loud.

The Salt River valley runs between Knox and the general area where @Breezy and I live. (I'm about 20 miles north of him) The "boom" echoes through that valley. Hard to discern the difference between tank rounds and howitzers.
